Amazingly, I actually did post a new review this morning.  That would be the article for "Syngenor."  In a terribly unfair twist, the reason to see this movie is not the monster, but to watch the CEO of the company that created it go slowly insane.

Syngenor Review

And, amazings of amazings, I even have most of the work done for the next review.  Things should be back on track for two updates per month again.

In a bit of fun, I think I have already picked out the movies for Thanksgiving (Blood Freak) and New Years (Buck Rogers - Pilot).  Still working on an idea for Christmas.

I like your line about a lighter and hair spray can being a good home defense option. On "Lost" last week, it made a pretty good home invasion weapon....in a cave......against a polar bear. Nevermind.

The building security you descibed in the movie even pales compared to the stuff we have where I work, which is pretty pitiful.
blah blah stuff blah blah obscure pop culture reference blah blah clever turn of phrase blah blah bad pun blah blah bad link blah blah zzzz.....

I could've swore that this film came out in the 80's.
Guess I was mistaken.
I remember years ago seeing this on the shelf at the local video store and thinking the ceature on the box looked cool.  After reading your review, I had no idea it was this bad of a movie.
And what was with the orange tongue in that video clip?  What did it do?

Thanks for the review!

I like dteh review, but you did an oxymoron:
Carter Brown - CEO of Norton Cyberdyne and resident lunatic. Effectively, this means he comes across as an old and unfunny Adam Sandler (okay, he is amusing at times). Crushed.

I think you just mean an OLD Adam Sandler.
Thanks for the review, man.

I LOVE this picture!!
I OWN this picture -- purchased for 50 cents at Video Station clearance sale --
Everything you say is true, but nothing you can say can really prepare anyone for the totally over-the-top/scenery-chewing/Oliver Reed overacting of the head of the company as he deteriorates -- I mean . . . wow . . .
And I love the TV scenes with the monsters superimposed over American flags, with the music, as if these rabid monsters are our best hope for the American Way of Life -- Really nasty stuff.

I have no idea what this means.

Andrew

I should have guessed that Peter would not only own and love the movie, but that it would be for all the reasons I agonized over in the review.  My friend, you are one strange pup.

Also thought about what could have made Norton Cyberdyne's physical security plan any worse and it came to me:  the lone security guard could have been a midget.  Then we could watch him scurry after the reporter and the nosey stick-girl as they sped away in their car.

Adam Sandler was funny in...or am I thinking of Chris Farley?

Ok, I confess I do have a soft spot for Happy Gilmore.  But that's all, I can't stand Adam Sandler in anythng else.

I haven't read the review yet, except for the teaser on the first page of this website, but whoever came up with the credits for this film,  I like their priorities of placing the catering company ahead of the actors in the credits. Good actors are almost a dime a dozen, but a good catering company is hard to find.

Oh, good Lord! Crap fest ahoy!
This is on my "Movies i wish Joel and the Bots had go to." list.
Notice, the monsters are powerful but slow moveing? Replace this security jamokes with some Recon Marines, and you just need someone from maintance to hose out the now empty vault. Yeesh!
Talk about an insult to the ol' brain pan...
Keep up the good work, Andrew. Semper Fi, carry on!
