The net must be full of Public Domain films and old film that now is free, so where can I find a list of Public Domain films and old films that now are free? (Not independent movies).

Believe it or not, wikipedia has a pretty solid list of theatrical PD films. That's a pretty good start. Here's the link.

Just to help everyone else out, here's the link to the archives.org collection of feature films, sorted by popularity.  That's the best public domain movie source, by far, with the only downside being the crappy search engine.
