Favorite Joe Dante Film?

Probably The Burbs.

Gremlins 1+2 simply haven't held up as I've grown older.  Explorers is good right up until they meet the aliens, then it turns into a big pile of s**t (and I thought so even when I was a kid).  All the others listed just aren't very good.

For those who hate the aliens, I understand where they're coming from. But, I kinda like the goofiness, since it's not at all what we (or the kids, it seems) were expecting. I thought Bob Ricardo was hilarious, and the film probably contains my favorite Dick Miller appearance in a Joe Dante movie.
Honestly, it's probably my third favorite of his work, after Gremlins 2 and Matinee. Jerry Goldsmith pwns, by the way.
