My Dad served in the British South Africa Police Reserve for many years (including stints in the army) so I have never been in jail as a result of anything. Nor do I want to go there.  :buggedout:

Does visiting the inside of the new county jail several years ago count?  The county wanted to show off the new jail addition they had just built so they had an open house to show it off before they accepted inmates and had to lock it down.  The addition was for the men and what was the current jail was turned into an all female wing.  So I went through the jail as part of the open house.

Otherwise nope.
God of making the characteristic which becomes dirty sends the hurricane.

As an inmate?
Or as a visitor?

Inmate? 0
Visitor? 1

When they opened up the new (over 40 years ago) federal jail in the city in which I was living at the time. Some of us got an invite to visit. Why? Maybe it had to do with the class on the U.S. government, we were taking at that time in high school. I do know they ran us all over, visiting one government office after another, as part of the class.  At that time, it was minimum security, and I do believe most of the inmates were to be Mexican nationals who were witnesses in on going cases in the courts in the city. They had to keep them locked up, as I remember, because if you left them out on their own recognizance. They'd be gone.
