We're all just victims of circumstance

Okay read this article and tell me what it sounds like to you.

For those who don't know the story, Shatner married Nerine Kidd over the warnings of people like Leonard Nimoy because she had a serious alcohol problem. I think he thought he could help her.

Anyway, when he returned from a business meeting one night he found her at the bottom of the pool.
She had broken her neck and drowned and the death was ruled accidental by the Coroner. She had 3 times the legal limit of alcohol for driviing in Calilfornia in her blood plus traces of valium. He retrieved her from the pool after calling 911 and was trying to revive her when the paramedics arrived.

I can't believe some a***ole wants to profit somehow from such a terrible personal tragedy.

I agree with you Trek.  I don't think that Shatner had anything to do with her death.  Anyone who has heard the 911 call that Shatner made should be more than aware of that fact.

On a bit of a side note, I can't believe that the Shat is almost 75.  Amazing.  He certainly doesn't look his age.

The point I want to make is the way this "investigator" is staging the whole thing to coincide with Shat's birthday and from the set of the Enterprise bridge. If he were the real deal he'd just go to the cops.

Does anybody doubt this guy will be announcing the release of his tell-all book about the case at the press conference?

Exactly. With the whole thing arranged as such a big, tasteless spectacle, this guy can only be some sleazy leech trying to make his own fame and fortune off of a legitimate celebrity's personal tragedy. Somebody should throw him in a pool.

Maybe next year, someone will be nicer to Bill and just kick him in the balls... He seems to get so much crap thrown at him these days.

Hey and this isn't just any birthday, this is his big 75. He and Nimoy both turn 75 next month. With Scottie and Doc McCoy gone, these two in their mid 70's, and the rest pulling up fast behind them the old Enterprise crew might not last until their 50th anniversary of the original Star Trek.  I don't know about Shatner though, age doesn't seem to have slowed him down any.
