..or a miniseries like Sci-Fi Channel's 'Dune'. I'm a big fan of Larry Nivens 'Known Space' series and would be curious to see how well it would translate to the big or small screen. Puppeteers, Kzinti, Pak Protectors, what's not to get excited about this? Or a Ringworld tv series? The possibilities are endless. I know Niven would love to see a Ringworld movie on the silver screen.
I read that he even went to Skywalker Ranch probably to see what they could conjure up..

SciFi Channel did one a couple years ago.  It was better than their normal run of things, but I have not read he book to be a judge of how they butchered it.  Every once in a whiole they can hit one right.  I liked the Dune adaptation, it had the correct "look" bu the acting was not so hot.  It was much closer to the book then the DeLaurentis one.

That's a coincidence. I just finished reading Ringworld's Children. An interesting conclusion to the series, although it's been so long since the last Ringworld book, it took me a while to get back up to speed.

Niven mentioned something about a movie in the introduction to this book. I've looked around since, but I can't find anything. A Ringworld movie would be amazing, although the stories might be tough to adapt without a lot of changes.

Personally, I liked the first book the best. The others, while they cleared up a lot of questions and technical issues, weren't as good, as far as I'm concerned. I could say the same about a lot of SF series, of course.
