I remember renting this truly terrible "Psycho" rip-off back in the late 80's, but for some reason I can't find it on the IMDB. It was called "Hallowed Gate", and it was a really lousy slasher movie about a deranged mental patient.
What really set this one apart, though, is that before the movie started, there were three previews. Two were for other s**tty horror movies, and the third was for "Hallowed Gate" itself. Only, it wasn't so much a trailer, as it was AN EXACT OUTLINE OF THE MOVIE WE WERE ABOUT TO SEE, complete with all the "surprise" scares (like the killer jumping out from behind a tree) and the ending (the killer's Mother blows him in half with a shotgun). So, watching the movie, you'd see the woman walking through the woods, and you'd know exactly when the killer is going to jump out and gut her. Not a very effective selling point.
Did anyone else ever see this, or am I insane?
