SCI-FI CHANNEL: GHOST HUNTERS - Just a reminder that Ghost Hunters is on Wednesday nights on Sci-Fi Channel. This is one of my favorite TV programs. Did anyone catch last weeks episode with the St. Augustine Lighthouse? That was a creepy one for sure. Here is T.A.P.S official site. Check out the whole site and watch the show.

I loved Ghost Hunters during it's first season.  It was straight to the point without any traditional "reality TV" crap.  I stopped watching it reguarlly during the second season when they started adding all of the drama to it.  It feels too staged now, although the investigations are still interesting.  I watch it on occasion, but it's gone downhill since it started.

A bald man named Savalas visited me last night in a dream.  I think it was a Telly vision.

Skaboi is right. They are adding too much crap to it and taking it the wrong direction. It is more of a soap opera now than what is was originally intended to be. It's too bad also because it's making Jay and Grant look like a***oles.

a lot of the episodes make you think you're going to see something but it's usually nothing. The light house one was the only good one that seemed to deliever the goods. If it's faked or not I'm not sure though.

Tonight they replayed Eastern State Penitentiary, The St. Augustine Lighthouse, and I missed the main show tonight of the St. Augustine Jail and will have to catch it next time.

Fear and Ghost Hunters both went to Eastern State Penitentiary. We visited Eastern State Penitentiary which is in Philadelphia last summer. Audio tours by Steve Buscemi. They have a night time ghost tour there also.

I would like to go to ESP but I have heard the tours at night are about $100 a person and it makes me wonder about actual results you may get.

Ghost Hunters is decent.  I usually try to watch every week.  They came to ESP twice, but the second time got nothing.

I kind of like that show, though I agree it's getting way too much soap opera stuff in it now.

Coincidentally, TAPS were consultants on Fear and they chose a lot of the locations and provided the background and "haunted history" that they used to do on that show.  Steve Gonsalves is a routine guest of the Rock & Shock shows out here in New England and I talked him up about it in 2006.  You think it's a soap opera, the s**t going on behind the scenes is worse.

Apparently, the reason Andy Andrews suddenly disappeared was because he was going behind Jason and Grant's backs to the Sci Fi channel people requesting more face-time on the show.  It got back to TAPS and out he went.

My wife and I still watch it, routinely.  I love it.  The new episodes this season have been pretty good and with Brian Harnois out of the mix (I guess he is officially no longer a member of TAPS and is doing his own ghost tours thing) the show has gone back to purely being investigations and minimized the melodrama.

The episode in the baby furniture store with the totally sweet EVP was awesome.

Eh...I kinda miss the old days, when you had stuff like "Sightings".  Sure, a lot of that stuff was probably made up, but damn it, they made it all entertaining and seem at least a little credible.

Most of the time, I regard Ghost Hunters as simply an investigation show where nothing happens.  They can go to the reportedly most haunted places in the world, and always seem to find virtually zilch.  Sci-Fi doesn't help matters much either, in the way they advertise this show...I remember seeing an ad for one episode where it looked like the TAPS team was running away from something spooky...turned out it was just some bats.

Strangely though, I keep getting the urge to tune in...I really don't know why.  I guess watching this show can be likened to watching a busty stripper, who makes it look like she's going to remove her top, but after teasing and teasing, she almost never does it.  But you keep coming back, hoping for the one day that she does.   :teddyr:

Ditto, though my wife has the bad habit of falling asleep before it's over.

The FDA has been looking for a generic name for Viagra. After careful consideration by a team of government experts, it recently announced that it has settled on the generic name of Mycoxafloppin. Also considered were Mycoxafailin, Mydixadrupin, Mydixarizin, Dixafix, and of course, Ibepokin.

Looks like I was wrong about Brian. He turned up in the ads for the next episode.

I post on the TAPS board, and I'm fairly certain he is off the show.  This series of episodes were filmed a bit ago, if I'm not mistaken.  But there will be a spinoff show, Ghost Hunters International.  It'll feature Brian, Donna and a few other people, ghost hunting in various other countries, like England, Finland, Italy, etc.
