I agree that the human plot was probably the best in some time.  However, there were at least a few parts that could have been cut down some, I know it, just cannot point them out off the top of my head.

Mainly, I am trying to find a way that a few of the fights could have been expanded and been really ground-shaking battles.  Godzilla killing off some of the monsters quickly is good to go, because he is the king of monsters.  However, I still say that Anguirus should have been a longer battle and the first fight with Gigan too.

TOO TRUE! I would have had Ceesar, Anguiurs and Rodan give Godzilla a pretty hard time.

For people who thought the fights were too short (pretty much all of us) I responded to this topic at the Final Wars IMDb where people came up with longer versions of nearly each fight. Take a look, I even contributed a longer version of Godzilla vs Gigan.

Great Stuff, I loved this film, but I'm a Kaiju hound anyway, so its hard not to.
"Anguirus, Seesar, and Rodan are left in a comical heap like the bad guys in a superhero cartoon"  Notice they are all his historical second bananas.  The big G knows how to treat his co-stars well I suppose.

I'm sure it's already been discussed in greater detail, but most of the monster battles were waaay too short... I think only the ones with "Zilla" and Kamacuras were done perfectly.... the rest were too short or too hokey. Also, I would have really enjoyed seeing Varan and Gezora added to the roster as well.
