I think it came from a cheesy early 80's sci-fi flick.  Full quote is something like - "Just eat through the bars"  "I'm a rock eater, not a bar eater, I eat rocks."  Any help or insights would be greatly appreciated.  Thanks

I don't recall there being any scene in The NeverEnding Story in which the rock biter had to break out of prison (have to be a pretty damn big jail cell) or anything like that.  Don't think it was in the awful sequel either, though I think there are more (animated?) NeverEnding Story movies that were released straight to video.  Maybe there.

I think that this might be Rock Biter Junior from "The Neverending Story III" (Eeekkk!), but I do not have a copy of the film on hand to verify.

The third one has the whole Bastian gang trapped in a department store or something. I tried to block it out. It's not-so old.

The only other rock-lovin' character from an 80's movie I can think of is the big thing from Labyrinth. There's a scene where he gets stuck in a jail cell, and sings to some rocks so they set he and Jennifer Connelly free.

File Neverending Stories 2 & 3 away (far far away) with The Skateboard Kid.

Stop reminding me of these movies.  Man that was bad.  I mean, A TALKING SKATEBOARD?!?  And why do things come to life by being hit by lightning in these movies?

This is from Galaxina (1980) starring the late Dorothy Stratten. Dorothy Stratten was a 20 year old Playboy Playmate of the Year  who was murdered by her husband/manager Paul Snyder shortly after the movie was finished, The Rock- Eater was a prisoner on the Police space cruiser she piloted in the movie. Hope this helps,,,chris
