IT CAME FROM BENEATH THE SEA  (pretty good Harryhausen)
IT CAME FROM OUTER SPACE (not as good as I was hoping, but not a total waste of time either)
FLIGHTPLAN  (okay, fairly predictable action/thriller)
OCEAN'S TWELVE (ok, had some cute twists)
COACH CARTER (good movie; I could sympathize as I've been the teacher everyone wished would quit)
RUN SILENT, RUN DEEP  (pretty good WWII fare)
GRAY LADY DOWN (good, but man was there not a LOT of wasted time during the course of this rescue?)
RED WATER (made for tv JAWS starring Lou Diamond Phillips.  Silly and fun, no gore; Why the R rating? is often asked)
SNATCH (but I think I mentioned this in another thread, and it's been discussed here at length)

I might just have a weak spot for "It Came from Outer Space," but I think it is one of the better alien science fiction films from the 50's.  Not only is it really creepy at times, I remember being terrified of power lines for a while as a child, but the motivations of the aliens are interesting.  They are also scared, scared of being hunted and killed by the humans.  They have the ability to mimic and semi-control the town while they get their ship fixed, so they do.  However, they really do not want to hurt anyone.  It makes a lot more sense than the plot devices in "I Married a Monster from Outer Space."  Though, that latter film has some great atmosphere with the little bride feeling powerless in a man-controlled society.  Men that are really aliens...

IT CAME FROM OUTER SPACE is a lot better if you see it in 3-D.  I had the opportunity to see a double feature of IT CAME FROM OUTER SPACE and CREATURE FROM THE BLACK LAGOON in 3-D at a local theater back in the late 1970s / early 1980s.  I also owned Super-8mm magnetic sound condensed versions (they were on 400' spools and ran about 17 - 18 minutes each) of both movies (in 3-D).  I sold them on ebay about 2 years ago for around $70 - $75 apiece.

We're all just victims of circumstance

Interesting thing about Red Water is that bull sharks have been found hundreds of miles up the Mississipi. A lot of supposed great white attacks are actually bull sharks. So, it's not totally perposterous.

And you thought Trek isn't cool.
