Looking for the websites that are actively adding new reviews.

I have been doing some maintenance on the links pages lately and noticed a depressing fact.  Many of the sites I used to frequent are either gone or no longer actively maintained.  So where do you find fun reviews?

The Rogue Reviewers, overall, seem to be the most active.  Some of the member sites have not updated for a while, but they seem to be putting a lot of work in the online magazine Rogue Cinema and it is updated monthly (with enough to keep you busy for a few days).  Nathan over at Cold Fusion is taking a month off.  I have to tell you, the blurbs by the head at the end of his reviews sometimes make me laugh out loud.

Dr. Freex has been MIA for a while, mostly due to looking for a Skirt+3, mini on World of Warcraft (or some MMORGP).  Ken Begg is also on vacation until January.  Losing Ken means that there is a lot less to read about bad movies.

Gerry is still updating SciFilm, but not too many movie reviews of late.  A lot of the new content (that I have seen) has been television shows.

(Dang...where'd you get the smileys? I just noticed that.) :smiley24:

I was going to say that this board itself is probably the best source, but things have slowed down here as well. Heck, other than the Friday the 13th marathon reviews I did, I don't think I have written a review since the Brady Christmas Special (now that's a drought for me).

I should be writing something. This past summer seemed like one bad movie after another; and not an enjoyable bad either. Charlie's Angels Full Throttle gave new meaning to a complete waste of film stock (not to mention time, effort; and I would mention talent, but I'm still trying to find it). Steven King's Desperation was pretty bad; mostly from the a point of view that the script seemed like a 5 year old wrote it (uh...sure, I believe you can blow up an entire mountain with a tube sock filled with fertilizer). Desperation was a better description of the out-of-work actors who filled the credits on that movie.

Oh; I did write a review of Land of the Dead; but that doesn't count as I enjoyed the movie, and it wasn't a bad movie either.

As a "Rogue" and speaking solely for myself, I am trying to devote more time to my personal site. It has kind of taken a back seat in the last couple months cuz I got married, had the whole honeymoon thing and then soon after had to deal with kidney stones and a pinched sciatic nerve. NOT FUN. Well...except for the wedding/honeymoon (which I am legally obligated to say).  TeddyR

The FDA has been looking for a generic name for Viagra. After careful consideration by a team of government experts, it recently announced that it has settled on the generic name of Mycoxafloppin. Also considered were Mycoxafailin, Mydixadrupin, Mydixarizin, Dixafix, and of course, Ibepokin.

Nathan at "Cold Fusion" is pretty regular, as is Dante's Inferno.  Ken seems on a short hiatus but his tean review of Atro is good.  "Cold Fusion" also links to a few pages that update pretty regularly   Bad Cinema Diary uns like clockwork with his monthly updates.  I'll admit I have'n't checked out Liz's site or Teleport City in awhile

Well, speaking from pure self-interest, I might point out that updating the "reader reviews" on this site could provide some new fodder at relatively low cost in terms of time and effort. (I sent in a reader review a while back, you see.) Apart from that, I'm not sure what else can be done. This site's got quite an array of bad movies on file already, and other sites tend to stand or fall based on how much time and effort their authors have to put into them, just like this one. People must be getting more busy these days.

If I could find a host that wasn't crap, I'd get mine going.  Got plenty of reviews written.

Dang, good point.  Gangrene Widescreen does not update very often, but each review is obviously a labor of love.  I keep missing them, because I have not put them on my links.  I will shoot them an email right away.  On the subject of your earlier post:  one person sites are always going to be at the mercy of our lives.  If we are busy with work, moving, school, or children the sites are going to lose out.  The only way I have found to combat this is to work ahead.  When I am in my groove I usually have the updates for the next month or two already done.  That helps a lot when you get distracted and only have an hour or so per week to update.

Well, speaking from pure self-interest, I might point out that updating the "reader reviews" on this site could provide some new fodder at relatively low cost in terms of time and effort. (I sent in a reader review a while back, you see.)

Also on my list of things to get done.  Getting my inertia going, then I will aim to get that back on track.  In the meantime, I added a section of the forum for movie reviews.

I just joined and don't want to be too sitepimping, but I update regularly:  http://tarstarkas.net/

The best frequent updater in my opinion is the Foywonder:  http://www.foywonder.com/

Also, the Agony Booth is still updated:  http://www.agonybooth.com/

As does Bad Cinema Diary:  http://www.cathuria.com/bcd/index.html

And Outlaw Vern:  http://www.geocities.com/outlawvern/

Some of the sites listed here are new to me but look worth checking out.  EDIT:  Bleeding Skull and Gangrene Widescreen are both awesome!

Time is the enemy.
Its hard to make time for writeing. Needs a loooot of dicipline. And a strong stomach for some of the material...why, the Sci-Fi channel alone is loaded with dispepsia!

I'll have to second the agonybooth.com as well, but want to mention headinjurytheater.com for some strange reviews, and for more in-depth analysis than you'd ever want, check out viddied, at http://cc.usu.edu/~alexjack/viddied.html.  I swear, that guy put more thought into a friday flick than the filmmakers themselves.

Mutant Reviewers from Hell is pretty good too.
