Please submit your vote for the stupidest, most logic-defying, agonizing, goofiest retarded dialog-containing, wreck-of-a-plot, painful viewing experience of a Friday the 13th flick.

I've seen all the Friday 13th films, but can hardly remember what happened in many of them, but I can tell you I liked the original FRIDAY 13TH and the two later ones JASON X and JASON VS FREDDY.

Heh yeah after watching a few of them recently, I agree - they all start to run together, which is why I tried to describe each of them sequentially with a phrase that summarized the basic plot (or lack of).

For me, 3, 5, and 8 were the worst, but part V, the New Beginning, was the worst, both plot-wise, character-wise, and the fact that it wasn't even Jason, rather it was Roy, the Ambulance driver who somehow obtained all of Jason's powers.  Jason in Space was pretty bad too, but a more enjoyable fun-bad.

I liked that they had a little fun with Jason in the JASON X and pitting the two icons against each other in the last film JASON VS FREDDY.

Come on, Part 5 wasn't that bad.  I loved that it wasn't Jason in that film, just some copycat killer.  If I'm not mistaken, that's also the film that has a newspaper with Jason's face on the front of it.  I have yet to figure out how someone would get close enough to Jason to snap the picture.   Smile

Part 8 is awful.....the sewer finale.......trash!

I have said in my reviews that parts 5 and 8 were the worst of the bunch, but, if given a choice, I would have to say that part 5 edges ahead of part 8 for being the worst. Largely because it is the least memorable. At least part 8 had the boxing scene. Part 8 does, however (IMO), have the dumbest ending (and Jason X tried its best to outdo that).

I've only seen the first three and Jason X.

Never saw parts 4, 5, 6, 7, 8 or 9.

About the only thing 5 had going for it was the high body count...but there were so many useless characters who showed up just to get killed seconds later.  Anyway, yeah Fridays have a rep for having crappy endings.  Jason X did have a crap ending but I remember part 3 in 3D having a "wtf" ending.  And I just watched part 7 and I'm still going "wtf" to Tina's dad (or dad's ghost) saving the day.

JASON TAKES MANHATTON p**sed me off! No gore, but mostly...no NYC!!! I wanted him to tear up Times Square, or a bust into a fancy shmancy Broadway play, or throw people off the Twin Towers-NOTHING HAPPENS!!! Whatta wasted oppertunity!!! Whatta rip-off! I even forgot I seen this one...I must have mentally expunged it from my brain before it exploded in rage at being ripped off the $2.00 I paid to rent this piece of tripe.ARRRGGGHHH!!!

Part 9 is the only one I turned off before it was over.  I just completely lost interest and the plot didn't make any sense.  Jason vs. Freddy would probably be the 2nd worst, then maybe Jason on a boat.

Menard, do you have a link to your Friday reviews?  I'd like to read them.

I've only done a marathon review of three of them which you can find here. I covered 7, 9, and X.

I had to go with Jason Goes to Hell. Comapred to what came before, it just went into left field with the whole disembodied-jumping from person to person-needs to be reborn angle.

The FDA has been looking for a generic name for Viagra. After careful consideration by a team of government experts, it recently announced that it has settled on the generic name of Mycoxafloppin. Also considered were Mycoxafailin, Mydixadrupin, Mydixarizin, Dixafix, and of course, Ibepokin.
