I saw this film a few times when i was a kid about these guys who summon a demon, like a small being about the size of a cat, but it more closely resembles a human, like a shaved, starved monkey maybe lol

I remember a part where they come back from somewhere and one of the guys is dressed in what seems to be like a cloak of some sort and hes saying the words of a book out loud and thats how the demon is summoned. Theres a bit where they put it in the boot of the car and take it away and bury it. I think the guy chops it up or something before burying it and i seem to remember noones very pleased that they have to be so brutal.

As far as i remember theres 3 or 4 guys and a girl in the film.

Sorry its so vague but thats all i really remember.

Any ideas?

I agree with RC, "Gate II" is the first movie that comes to mind.  Reader review, with pictures and a video:
