This is one of my all time favorite 'bad movie nights' movies! Having spent time on subs back in my hmmm..younger days....I was amazed at the roominess of the subs, and the heighth and width of the hatch and door openings, and the plethora of standard bulbs, the windows in the watertight compartments...and the real frosting on the cake is that if the cap'n messes this mission he did the last one????...he'll never be a sub cap'n again???? But's all in good fun...right? The ever changing size of the octupii...sometimes it's sub sized...other times it huge....must be the water retention and 'that time of the month'...who knows. Did anyone notice that the markings on the drum seem to change...sometimes it was in russian...then later its in english?...and the idea of such a sweet young thang playing strip poker on a sub...on a has tobe hooper written all over it...but it is a guaranteed bad movie night' winner...and in this neck of the woods...the losers have to buy the beer and snacks for the next movie!...Love this thing!

Whlst I agree, this monster has been cliched more than enough times, I will say I found using a wuss as the hero was kinda original.

God help me I actually enjoyed this movie! If you want really (really really really) bad watch Octopus 2 (yes they made a sort of sequel, yes it actually made part one look like a work of art)
