As an adaptation, this movie it horrible. On its own, however, it is simply mediocre. It was pretty anticlimactic, and the massive robot scene was a letdown (since she really wasn't in much danger- it could have been used to much greater effect if a villain had deployed it on her). Angelina Jolie did a pretty good job, but I don't think she captured Lara Croft all that well. She's a little too masculine and, well, insane, for the role, I think... but someone must've liked it, because she is back in a sequel, after all.

Worth a view, nothing more.

This is what I call a better movie. Angela Jolie RULEZZZZ.
The effects could be better, but that doesn't matter!

I actually liked the movie and there were some funny parts including the butler who dons the armour and shotgun

This movie blows. Did anyone else notice that the "opposite ends of the earth" are RUSSIA and CAMBODIA? Last time I looked at a globe...

I liked Tomb Raider, the fan-boy nods...and Angelina's portrayal. I guess I didn't take it as seriously as most. I kind of expected it to be somewhat campy. But to be frank, I can't think of a video game OR comic book property that is really a worthy intellectual pursuit. If it's not fun, why read OR play it. I think people that went to a game property movie expecting Shakespeare (and consequently disappointed) set themselves up. Regardless, as video game movies go, I believe this has been the most profitable to date.
