Godzilla vs megaguirus was pretty stupid.megaguirus was a monster made because they were desperate for a new movie. They should go for somethting like "orga returns" or"godzilla vs mecha-mothra"

One of the worst Gozilla movies, man they wanted to cash big on this one, the special effects are ridiculous, and i do mean ridiculous, the G suits looks really washed up, MegaGuirus shows is beautiful suppose to be hidden whires when he flies, the damn special effect team didnt even bother hidding them, what a joke.

You can cleary see the city and the rest is rushed and the special effects of the trash can and cars are so horrible.

Nothing to compare to the great movie Gamera 3, this one is a must for any monter movie fan, and Godzilla VS Mechagodzilla 2004, this one is a stealer and far better then Megaguirus.

At least they took the time to make the special effects credible.

I'm not as harsh (or incoherent) as Yannick about GvM, but there are some pretty bad moments. The "ocean" scenes featuring humans are obviously shot in a studio pool (as noted in the review) and a key moment from the climax--in which a character ejects from an aircraft and lands safely, without a parachute, in a public swimming pool--is amazingly preposterous.

On the other hand, the flooding of the city, the "revised history" scenes of Godzilla's past attacks, and the CGI giant insect swarms looked fantastic when I saw them on the big screen; I don't know how well they come off on video.

It's pretty hit-and-miss, but enjoyable if you're in the right frame of mind. I'm glad the generally-awful Millenium Series is drawing to a close--Megaguirus and "Godzilla 2000"'s Orga were the only original monsters in the whole series, and only "Godzilla-Mothra-King Ghidorah: Giant Monsters All-Out Attack" was truly outstanding--and hope that next time Godzilla gets to really thrash.

Ok.....time for me to come to defense of this film I guess.  I used to do Andrew's Monster Island website reviews sometime ago and have been a diehard kaiju fan forever and it's just kinda sad to see this film being rip to shreds....this is really old school G-flick

I really REALLY like the score for this movie...it highlights the action regularly and seeing Godzilla with the music playing just totally makes my day.

Godzilla's jumping for a reason.  that shot in particular is a tribute to stunt actor Tsuto Kitagawa's work in Sentai series like Dynaman and Power Rangers.

There's a lot of criticism about the wires being visible but they aren't as visible on Toho's DVD...the reason being is Sony "cleaned up" the picture to an extent that an affect meant to cover the wires in the intro scene of Megaguirus is ruined...

That being said I find this flick better than Godzilla, Mothra, King Ghidorah: All Monsters Attack but just shy of Godzilla Against MechaGodzilla by the same director as this flick.  I highly recommend reviewing that one Andrew...the battle between G and MechaG is great!!!!!!!!

I did hate the movie, its just sad to see the they dont pay more attention to details and the movie looks to me like it was rushed out.

Godzilla is a lot more popular then Gamera, how come the Gamera Triology is so well done when Godzilla is poorly done.

I dont mean all the G movies of course but even so, G vs Ghirora is pertty crappy in term of special effect, and laggs, Godzilla vs mechagodilla 2 in 1993 is pathetic in term of special effects, G vs Destroyer is very good and space godzilla is another attrocity of the serie.

In All monster attack the only bad thing is Godzilla himself, he was so damn hot in G2000 when the costume was redonne, now he looks more like a possessed T-Rex then a Godzilla monster.

Lets hope for the best in futur godzilla movies, with G vs mechagodzilla 2004 they are on the right track for sure, the movie rocks and G too.

Wait a minute .. bad SFX in a Godzilla film?  The devil you say!  Well, I always thought that was part of the charm.
I have liked the Millemium G films for the most part.  Really like the opponent in this film as well.

I just love this movie. I own the Officially liscensed Toho VCD's that were released in Hong Kong. I've had them for years. If you take it as it is, a homage to the silliness of the Showa movies, you will be okay. And being that I am a female, I just love Kudo. The dubs just do not do all of the characters justice. I highly recommend watching it with the Japanese language track and subtitles.

Oh and just one more thing, Magaguiras is not a female. Megaguiras is in fact a male. On my VCD, the literal translation in the subtitles states that he is the King of all the Meganula. If you need comfirmation I will take a screen grab for you.

"GODZILLA VS MEGAGUIRUS" is the coolest Godzilla film ever made. Godzilla looks a lot like the one from "GODZILLA 2000" and "GODZILLA AGAINST MECHAGODZILLA", but it is not. Godzilla also made the greastest victory I've ever seen. That's all for now...

I suppose it will all end with Final Wars.  I thought it would simply be a remake of Destoy all Monsters, but they are bringing back all sorts of old creatures.  Even that giant Sea Shrimp and the planet X aliens.  Should be really ... odd.

great to watch this movie ! The way they tell the story and
all the 'special effects', I love everything (it's just so fun),

it reminds me the power of imagination little kids have, always inventing stories about big monsters destroying everything, and how people find a way to fight them back,
without any kind of sophisticated 'FX'

very refreshing and funny !

Godzilla vs. Megagurius is 10 times better than Gamera 3 The new godzilla suit was very beautiful and quite scary and Megagurius was very fast-moving and can easily dodge Godzilla's Fire ray the Miniatures were very realistic and so were the monsters but I don't know what happens to Godzilla at the end. A great godzilla movie with beautiful special effects Godzilla vs. Megagurius is a must-see movie.
