There are a number of titles on here that could get your attention.

Resident Evil: Extinction.
They are traveling across a desert, to get from Raccoon City to Alaska?  Ah, at least Milla is in there.

Alien vs. Predator 2
Hey, more super hunter vs super parasite action.

Creature from the Black Lagoon
I am going to hope that it is not turned into a flash/monster/flash thing with quick edits.  Seeing the creature full on and being able to contemplate its staring eyes and gills was something that scared me to death as a child.

I Am Legend
With Will Smith.  Egad, but that worries me.  The story gives you lots of opportunity for a tale of sorrow and helplessness.  One man, continuing on despite the fact that everything he cared about is gone.  Not going to be the same if Smith does that laugh of his.

Read this a while back:

http://www.firstshowing.net/2006/08/02/why-2007-will-be-a-great-year-for-movies/

That Fangoria list is great, because there's a few really interesting movies coming out which aren't on the first showing list.  Pan's Labyrinth looks like it could be interesting, among many other fine contenders [though no Bowie in a cod piece means not anywhere near as much fun!]

I've been enjoying the idea of dark, twisted fairytales in cinematic form.  The world really does need some new ones, but I'll settle for some unusual and hopefully creative adaptations of old tales...

Plus Grindhouse amongst many other contenders for the 'my brain is going to explode next year due to awesomeness' awards.

Though most of these will probably turn out crap, I'm still going to make an effort to watch quite a few.

Though I'm still worried about the idea of 'Aliens Vs Predator 2'... I just don't want it to be made in 'our time' but I'd love to see the Space Marines back in action with Pulse Rifles blazing!

Sadly, reading the article, it's not going to happen, but hopefully we'll have some nice, gruesome scares and fight scenes.

As for the others, well I'll wait and see.  I just thought I'd jump in on the AVP2 bashing early this time around.

I agree, I've been watching movies like this ever since I was allowed to go to the show by myself, you have to wade through a lot of drek to find a few gems, but they make the trip worthwile. Also would like to see the Space Marines make a comeback, they were among the best characters in Aliens. Actually I kind of enjoyed Alien vs Predator, probably because I didn't pay $8.50 to see it, the dvd was a gift so even if it did remind me of a mediocre video game it was ok to watch. Maybe Space Marines vs Predator would be the way to go.
