The FDA has been looking for a generic name for Viagra. After careful consideration by a team of government experts, it recently announced that it has settled on the generic name of Mycoxafloppin. Also considered were Mycoxafailin, Mydixadrupin, Mydixarizin, Dixafix, and of course, Ibepokin.

Can't watch the video at the computer I'm currently on - no speakers.  Oh well.  Doesn't look like I won anyway.

Congrats to everyone who did win!

He holds the slips of paper with the winners' names up to the camera where they can be clearly read, and goes in ascending order of prizes winners announced (third, second, first). You do get a mention, though, Skaboi.

Worth a look when you get a chance, Ash comes off as a quite friendly and likeable guy during his presentation. A cool guy you might want to drink a beer with Cheers, not at all like the trouble making ruffian he is here. Just kidding, Ash.  TongueOut Note my rare use of smilies, to make a point.

Thanks for the contest, Ash, and congrats to the winners from me too.

Even though I didn't enter, due to distance issues, it was well worth following this comp just for that final video!  In many ways exactly as I pictured, so that was kinda funny.

Congrats on the winners, and may people take Ash's example and be a bit more giving this year, maybe not with a grandiose prize-giving extravaganza, but giving either in charity or just in attitude.  The world needs more attention to the good side of humanity these days, so even if it's a holiday cop-out, it's worth it!

Oh and speaking of breaking anonymous internet boundaries, once my net starts feeling a bit better [as in it doesn't disconnect every five minutes] I plan to load up one or two little homemade films I've got kicking around just for a bit of a laugh.  Hopefully they'll transfer badly to make up for the crappy filmmaking!  TongueOut

This video was a trend setting moment. It was neat to see one of our regulars ASHTHECAT on Youtube.

Hope to put something up on Youtube or my website sometime in the coming months.

Now that you put this video up you'll have to give us more of ASHTHECAT from Iowa. You actually have a good voice and some personality. Give us more video ! ! ! We want our ASHTHECAT TV channel.

How about movie reviews ASH? or a little short film?  Thumbup Thumbup

Thanks for the compliments guys.   Smile

The only thing I didn't like about that clip was how my voice sounded "gravelly".
(is that a word and did I spell it right?)
I don't hear that when I regularly speak, so it sounded weird when I watched the video for the first time.

And Skaboi & I have talked on the phone a couple of times a few months ago.
He had free Skype so we bulls**tted for almost 2 hours on the phone talking about everything from B-movies to politics.
He's a really nice guy.  Wish he'd post more often.

I might do a video review of the Star Trek TOS episode, "The Omega Glory" sometime soon.
I want to be able to use video clips in it though...I don't want it to be a video of me just sitting there telling you about it.

My camera came with editing software but it's somewhat complex to use.  It has a lot of features and the interface isn't the easiest to get the hang of.
I'm gonna have to sit down with the manual one of these days and learn how to use it.

This is my camera:

It doesn't look like much, but this baby has a buttload of features.  And it cost me almost $900!

Do any of you know of some free programs that I can use to add clips from films or TV shows to a video review?

Next time, I'll make sure to shoot during the day.
I only have one lamp in my living room and shooting at night makes for a really dark video.
(I shot the contest drawing at 1:30 in the morning)

My Sony DVD Handycam shoots crystal clear video but since Youtube compresses the file, it always ends up looking grainy.
I also use a really cool Sony remote control tripod...that's how the frame stays so steady.

When I bought it, I never thought I'd really use it...boy was I wrong!  I've used it numerous times in the past year.
It was well worth the $50+ I dropped on it.

Scott...I look forward to any videos you might make.
Just be sure to get yourself a tripod.

The gravelly voice is ok, Greg "The Hammer" Valentine use to have one during his interviews. You have to create your own character from the voice.

Start out with short camera reviews for now and then add the clips to later reviews when you get it figured out. Of course you can wait if you want a better production.

I would want to have my own sound stage and two sets (backgrounds) for a couple of my ideas. In my basement. A professional production, but also might do a couple small projects just so I can get something on the internet and find the best way to go about that.

Definately want a some steading shots with a tripod.

UPDATE!
To those of you who don't know what I'm talking about, I won a big prize by entering a Dr. Pepper bottlecap code online 2 years ago in February of 2005.
Read this thread first...it will explain everything.
http://www.badmovies.org/forum/index.php/topic,83994.0.html

--------------------------------------

After months and months of numerous e-mails and no response, I finally got ahold of the company that ships these prizes!

I ordered all of these prizes back in December immediately after the Badmovies.org Christmas Drawing
Month after month went by and nothing was ever shipped.
The contestants never received their prizes.   Question
I sent about 10 e-mails to www.passpoints.net asking when the stuff was going to be shipped.
No one ever responded.

It made me angry.   Hatred
Not only did I order the goods for the winners of this contest, but I had also ordered stuff for myself on the same order that never arrived.
In addition to that, I still had exactly $2,134 to spend.
But because no one was answering my e-mails and I couldn't seem to find a phone number that someone would actually answer at Passpoints, I feared that not only would the contestants be screwed out of their prizes, but that I also would never be able to redeem the remaining $2000+ I still had left.

-----------------------------------------

That all changed when I was digging through some papers recently and found an old invoice from the DVD recorder I ordered from them two years ago.
It had a New Jersey phone number for Passpoints on it that I had never seen before.

I immediately called them up and got a supervisor named Maria on the phone.
I explained my plight to her and she basically said, "That program has been shut down for months.  That's probably why you've never received your stuff."

My reaction was a loud, "WHAT!?"

When I explained to her that the rules of the contest clearly stated that my Passpoints never expire and questioned why they would shut the program down anyway, she couldn't give me a satisfactory answer.
She just kept saying, "I don't know...I don't know".
(1 point = $1)
Obviously, someone somewhere along the line at her company blundered.

At first, she was talking like she wasn't going to let me spend the rest of my $2,000...That I was pretty much SOL because I hadn't spent all of my points.
It was only after some smooth talk, and me telling her that I had already paid Federal and State taxes on the prize, that she eventually relented.
(if she had said no and remained firm on her decision, I would've sued them)

She told me, "You've got 24 hours to spend the rest of your money.  Any unspent points will be forfeited."

Holy crap!
24 hours to spend over $2000!   Buggedout

I spent $2,131 in 30 minutes.   BounceGiggle
No joke.
And I narrowed it down to only 3 points left unspent!

She even made me send in screenshots as proof...which I did.

So, Shadow, Derf and RC, your stuff will be shipped this coming week.

I've already called Shadow and RC on the phone to tell them about this but haven't been able to get ahold of Derf.
I also wanted to post this to let everyone else know that even though it took awhile to get this stuff sent, I did it!   TeddyR   Thumbup

Well,Ash,as you said,we spoke on the phone about it. I admire your preserverance and patience...personally,when I deal with idiotic office help,I tend to go off the deep end and make bizzare life threating (and impossibly insane) comments, such as to s0me shmuck scamster trying to get my wife to sign up for one of those money transfer scams (this one from ome African Prince abu in England! He had the nerve to CALL my house! I told him,thus_"You rotton piece of sh!t! If you EVER try to call my house again,I will fly an airplane over to your house, and drop an A-Bomb on your f#cked up ass'!"

Uh...what was I talking about...OH yeah! Yeah...I'd have never made it to first place in such a situation without going ballistic. Thanks! Yer a better man than me,Charlie Brown! Smile  Thumbup

Thanks for the diligence and hard work, Ash. You have more patience than me. I'd have been ready to cuss out anyone and everyone associated with the entire affair. I suppose they figure contest winners are gonna spend all their points relatively fast and don't count on some like you who save some of them.
