I remember a while back there were a couple of scenic postings of the view from some board members house, and since mine is somewhat interesting at the moment I thought I'd share a couple.
Being summer here, we are very much in the middle of fire season and it's a hell of a big one brewing throughout the state. That means when the wind changes we get a hell of a smokescreen across the city.
I think Rombles also had a few big fires out his way in the state next to ours. If you're still with us Rombles nod twice! Any trouble out your way?
Anyways, to illustrate how bad it is at the moment, I thought I'd post a few pics I just took of the view from my roof. Very creepy, but also kinda cool [if it wasn't for the devastating fire that caused it of course...]
Some news on what's going on for those interested:
http://news.ninemsn.com.au/article.aspx?id=164653So anyways, here are a couple of pics. Bear in mind that the closest fires to me are quite a fair way away, at least a good 100kms, and you get the idea of how bad it must be to try and fight these monster fire fronts...
I kept the pics small for ease of use, but you can probably follow the picture's link to find the bigger versions to really appreciate how nuts it is...
