The 24-hour bad movie event starts at 6:00 PM on the 26th and ends at 6:00 PM on the 27th.  Ken Begg tells me that tickets tend to sell out in recent years, so it would be best to have your ticket locked in before reserving a flight.

I am hoping to go this year, but I am always at the mercy of my military duties (and now children too).

Andrew...
If you're going then I'll definitely go.
I live about 4 hours drive from where B-Fest is held.

I'll go only if I know you guys are going to be there.
I'd invite Brother Ragnarok but he's next to impossible to get ahold of.

So, I'd most likely drive there by myself but like I said, I'll only go if I know that you and Ken will be there.  And assuming that I can hang with you guys and sit with you all.
I need to get out of here for a couple of days.
B-fest would be perfect!
I'll buy my ticket right now if you all are going.

How sure are you that you'll be going?

I hope to know by the first week of January if I will be able to attend.  I believe that the tickets also go on sale around that time and Ken told me that he expects them to sell out.  Really, if you can go, it is a blast to sit in a big auditorium full of bad movie fans and watch a bunch of movies.

So, I take it that you wouldn't mind if I hung out with you guys the entire time?
(Trust me...I'm not as bad in person as I am on here!)   Twirling
And I want to check out that hot dog place you guys like to eat at.

Going to regular movies by myself...I have no problem with.
But it would really suck to go to B-Fest alone with no one to sit with.
I've always wanted to go to it.

I'll try to contact Brother R. and see if he can get away for a couple days.

You've met him before right?

Not at all.  One of the reasons I like going to B-Fest is to actually meet people I usually interact with online.

I met Brother R at one of the B-Fests.  I think it was 2001?

Cool!
Be sure to let me know plenty ahead of time as I'll need to request those days off from work at least 2 weeks in advance.

And don't worry...
I'll bring the paper plates.   Thumbup

Wow!
They're showing some really cool films this time around.

The Beastmaster and Krull are only two of the many B movies I want to see there.   Thumbup
(I've seen 'em before...just not on the big screen)

Did you end up going to B-fest this year?   It was a pretty good time.    I think it was better than last year.   but then again I have always had a good time.

It was funny when the reels of Krull were switched around..  BounceGiggle

can't wait until 2008..

No...I didn't go.
Andrew was assigned to his military duties and couldn't go.
I got ahold of Brother R. but he was going with a group of other friends and I didn't want to force my presence on them.
I'm pretty sure their car was full.

Oh well...there's always next year.

it is held  at the Northwestern campus, in Evanston  IL.     Usually the last Fri and Sat of January.   In the past 3 yrs it has sold out within a few hours  so my advise to you is to  go to the box office, to purchase tickets,  if you don't know someone who will purchase tickets for you.

I plan way in advance.. I have already put in for the days off from work, for next year.

They need to change their ticket selling system so people can purchase them online.
Right now, you're forced to either go to the box office or make a long distance call to reserve them.
It's very inconvenient.

It would be so much easier if people could buy them online with a credit card.

I agree...  It would be easier online.     I know for me it was stressful  for the last 2 years.. trying to call and getting on the waiting list and all..
so for this year I just went to the box office.

I've always wanted to get a something like B-fest together.   but for horror films.   well alot of those films fall into the b-movie catagory  So it wouldn't be much different.   haha.

Welcome to the forum mllemorte.

Unfortunately, I do not think that B-Fest has any reason to offer online ticket sales.  Even with the hurdles they currently have in place, the festival sells out every year and usually fairly quickly.  On the other hand, I believe the reason they do it every year (in addition to having fun) is to get experience with running a movie festival.  Figuring out how to do online ticket sales could be an added benefit.
