Lagomorphs: menace or underutilized resource?

« on: December 20, 2006, 11:22:29 AM »

All this Batman talk on the board lately has got me wondering. I know my preference, but I figured I'd ask opinions from others here. This was almost a "Who played the best Batgirl" poll, but a poll with only two entries (and one of those in only one movie) seemed a bit limited. So, I ask, who is your favorite Catwoman?

If I missed any, let me know and I'll add them. And no, Halle Berry doesn't count.

Lee Meriwether

Julie Newmar

Eartha Kitt

Michelle Pfeiffer

And just in case you care, my personal favorite is Julie Newmar. But don't let that sway your vote.

I went with Lee Meriwether. It was a tough choice though.

I don't think I've ever seen Lee Meriwether's portrayal of CatWoman, only caught a few minutes of Eartha Kitt's CW, Michelle Pfeiffer's didn't work for me, so I'm gonna have to go with Julie Newmar.
My favorite episode involves CW using stolen cash to buy fake Stradivaris. While her cronies are busy dealing with Batman & Robin, she tries to escape on a rocket with a folding chair glued to it. When the rocket doesn't work, Catwoman starts pounding on the Blast-Off button & kicking the rocket, screaming "Gidyup!" I just love that subtle subtext.

Julie Newmar, being genuinely mentally unstable/mentally ill, did indeed bring a certain . . . something to the role --
And I have always been infatuated with Michelle Pfiffer --
So, logically, am going with Ertha Kitt --
Nobody could purrr like that woman, plus she sacrificed her career on the altar of politics and The First Amendment.

I kinda like Ertha Kitt so I voted for her, but no doubt they were all good.

Didn't see CATWOMAN is it related to the BATMAN story? If so then we have to put up Halle Berry.

No, Berry's Catwoman was a superheroine in some non-Batman fiction; that's why I specifically excluded her.

Ozzymandias speaks: Julie Newmarr. She kind of looked like a friend of mine from high school. She also has that odd accent.

Ozzymandias has spoken!!!

Julie Newmar without a doubt! She could switch from highschool girl next door to dangerous maniac in an instant. Plus she had that whole 'teenager in love' thing with Adam West, that I found so much more entertaining than the femme fatale act of the others.

I voted for Michelle Pfeiffer.

She was downright nasty as Catwoman and I loved her performance!   Thumbup

I voted for Michelle Pfeiffer too.  Thought she did a great job plus loved her shiny costume and the whip.

But Julie Newmar patented a Pantyhose with shaping band for cheeky derrière relief. Check it out if don't believe me
