I drink Coke when I can but I live in a Pepsi household which makes it harder, I voted Crush though because Orange Crush is Da Shiznit.

I can't remember if we've talked about soft drinks before so I figured I'd drop a new poll.

How about you?
What's your favorite soft drink?

I'm focusing only on major brands.  I specifically decided not to delve into some of the little known brands.  I've also decided to not split hairs and include "diet" versions of each soda.

Do you call it "pop", soda" or something else?

I'm pretty much a Coke and Pepsi fan, Pepsi more so because in Rhodesia (now Zimbabwe) all we could get at one point because of sanctions was Pepsi.  Drink

I learned a nifty trick from an old hillbilly at work....put peanuts in yer cola. It's actually quite good!

I guess I'm a old hillybilly, I've been doing that since I was a kid.

Peanuts and Dr. Pepper are best, however only in the glass bottles preferably the 10 oz. size with 2 oz bag of peanuts. When I was a kid you could get both the 10 oz DP and 2 oz bag of Planters Roasted for less than a 25 cents.

My grandfather was a huge fan of peanuts and dr pepper. I remember too as a kid, he used to give us 'hot' (as in heated up) dr pepper when we were feeling icky.
Also, I can remember as a kid, mom making us chocolate dr peppers. you can get something similar at sonic, but it just isn't the same.
Whenever I go over to kentucky side, i often pick up a bottle of Ale-8. It seems like i see it less and less though...

There are a few store with Ale-8-One here, but it's more of a Central Kentucky thing. Sun Drop is the citrus drink of choice here, I mean who can pass up something with "wood rosin" in it?

I do Cherry Dr Pepper at Sonic, I hit Happy Hour at Sonic (jumbo size is less than a buck) nearly every day and grab one. But nothing is going to taste like the ones made in the bottles, just not the same.

They've actually started to bring Sun Drop back here in Iowa.
I was at a local grocery store (Hy-Vee) recently and spotted Sun Drop in one of those impulse refrigerators situated right in front of the checkout lanes.
I bought a bottle of it and it was the bomb!
And the price was right.  Only 89 cents.  Thumbup

It only seems to be sold in that chain of stores, though.  I haven't been able to find it anywhere else.

And why would they put wood rosin in it?

I voted for the A & W Brand Root Beers & Sodas.

Particularly, their vanilla soda is to die for IMO.

My 2nd favortie would be Mr. Pibb.

The A&W sodas are very good.  I believe they have a "Vanilla Creme" that I like to buy on occasion.

And, I forget which comic it was, but there was a comedian who did a funny bit about Mr. Pibb being a lazy version of Dr. Pepper.  Not even attempting to graduate college.  Just like, "I'm content here."

Although, Wendy's does sell Mr. Pibb.  Good stuff.
