5. Spectreman vs. Midoran (episode 3)

Small | Large

Midoran was Spectreman's second foe and a unique one in that he was stop-motion animated and not a man in a monster suit.  For the budget, Midoran came off better than he had any right to.  This was also the only battle in which Spectreman fought a giant enemy without growing to his giant size.

4. Spectreman vs. Fake Spectreman (episode 51)

Small | Large

Dr. Gori had created a fake Spectreman robot, because that's what all evil geniuses do in these shows.  It was no match for the real Spectreman, of course, but the fight was an exciting one.  I'm a sucker for the "powers cancel each other out" thing that always happens when a hero fights his duplicate.

3. Spectreman vs. Rah (episode 5)

Small | Large

Union rules dictate that a hero must either fight his nemesis or the main henchman of his nemesis at some point.  Spectreman fought a giant-sized Rah, Dr. Gori's muscle man, in episode five.  The fight was very good as Rah seemed too tough for Spectreman to handle.

2. Spectreman vs. Nezubirdon, Round 1 (episode 9)

Small | Large

Nezubirdon was a standout monster: a two-headed rat with the body of a turkey.  The battle with Spectreman was also very good and boasted some of the best choreography of any fight in the series.  Remember, when fighting a two-headed enemy, punching away one head is just going to bring the other one swinging toward you.

1. Spectreman vs. Cyborg X (episode 27)

Small | Large

If you want the best episode of Spectreman, this is it.  There are seven monsters in this twenty-and-some-minute battle to the death.  It also contains Spectreman's best battle.  The Cyborg X creature was simply too tough for any of Spectreman's weapons to harm and too skilled to best at hand-to-hand combat.

I haven't seen Spectreman in almost 30 years. I'd love to see this show again. Watching the Ultraman DVD's has really rekindled my love for these old shows.

The FDA has been looking for a generic name for Viagra. After careful consideration by a team of government experts, it recently announced that it has settled on the generic name of Mycoxafloppin. Also considered were Mycoxafailin, Mydixadrupin, Mydixarizin, Dixafix, and of course, Ibepokin.

Godzilla's best fights. I'm just listing them in no order

1) Godzilla vs. adult Mothra (G vs Mothra)
2) Godzilla vs. Destroyah (really dramatic stuff)
3) Godzilla vs. Mecha Godzilla and Titanosaurus. Tough fight and the humans gave a helping hand.
4) Godzilla vs. Super X. Filled to the brim with explosions but without over doing it.
5) Godzilla vs. Biollante II. Brief but sometimes that doesn't matter when it's exremelly well done.

Runners up:vs. King Ghidorah, Mothra, and army (GMK)  ,vs. Megaguirus, King Ghidorah (92), Destroy All Monsters, Hedorah.

I liked Godzilla's fights in Final Wars.  It was just amusing how completely and utterly he trashes all of his opponents in seconds.

I wouldn't mind seeing all of the Spectreman series again.  For a long time, I had thought it was part of the Ultraman series.  Then a number of years ago I ran across the description, saying that he fought evil and pollution.  That finally clarified it for me.  Did you run across the series on gray market DVD?  Your captures look pretty clear.

Good list, but my faves were...

1. Godzilla vs. Monster X (Final Wars)
Great pacing (for once, I wasn't bothered when they switched back and forth from the monsters to the humans and back). I actually liked the Monster X design... plus, I always wanted to see Mothra fight Gigan...

2. Godzilla vs. Megaguirus (guess which one)
Megaguirus is acting all big and bad, knocking Godzilla around and then- CHOMP! What an upset.

3. Godzilla/Mechagodzilla/Titanosaurus (Terror of Mechagodzilla)
You can't keep a good kaiju down... even under tons of earth.

4. Godzilla vs. Mothra/King Ghidorah (GMK)
I think i actually like the weak, evolving Ghidorah better... awesome light show, with a healthy dose of physical action as well (the part where Godzilla takes Mothra out with his tail while chewing on Ghidorah is great).

5. Godzilla/Anguirus vs. Gigan/King Ghidorah (Godzilla On Monster Island)
I gotta admit, I love Anguirus... yeah, he's clumsy, ray-free and often gets his spiky butt trounced, but I love his determination. Watching him, Godzilla and Gigan go pound for pound over and over almost makes me forget that Ghidorah's kind of hanging back... must be getting old.

Runner up: The free-for-all brawl in Destroy All Monsters! Wait a minute! Did Rodan just flee the battle despite the odds being very much in his favor? Chicken!!

Glad we agree on a bunch of those Horse. I really do like the Monster X designs and the battle. I think Megaguirus is a slightly underrated monster.
