Which film of the Friday 13th series (and related F13 films) is the best?

Friday the 13th    (1980)
Friday the 13th: Part 2     (1981)
Friday the 13th: Part 3    (1982)
Friday the 13th: The Final Chapter   (1984)
Friday the 13th: A New Beginning    (1985)
Friday the 13th Part 6: Jason Lives   (1986)
Friday the 13th Part 7: The New Blood   (1988)
Friday the 13th Part 8: Jason Takes Manhattan     (1989)
Jason Goes to Hell: The Final Friday    (1993)
Jason X   (2001)
Freddy Vs. Jason   (2003)

Okay, I know the technically some people I know don't really count Jason Goes to Hell and Freddy vs. Jason as true F13th movies, but I also know some fans who do count them so I included all the films in this poll.   And I realize that Part 5 wasn't really Jason, but an impersonator.

As for my personal favorite, I've always like Part 6 the best as that is the one in which our unstoppable killing machine  became the zombiefied monster via a lightning bolt.

Plus, I've always liked how the writer/director put so much humor into Part 6 that made it pretty refreshing as a whole.

I'm with you on Part 6.  It's the way that a reboot for a film series should be done.

A bald man named Savalas visited me last night in a dream.  I think it was a Telly vision.

I liked Part 2 the best.It was pre hocky mask Jason, and just really creepy. The rest started to get formullatic and dull.Though JASON GOES to HELL was a pleasant change of pace...(plus I love the scene where  the chick gets chopped in half!) Though,to be honest,Iv'e only seen the first,2,3-D,take MANHATTON(which SUCKED!) FREDDY vs....and a few minutes of others...

I saw Jason Takes Manhattan in a theater and threw my popcorn at the screen after it was over with and got banned from that particular theater for a little while until new management took over.

I went with part six. I remember seeing it in the theater with my best friend and my dad, with my dad being the one to makes those "ch-ch-ch" noises really loud.

The FDA has been looking for a generic name for Viagra. After careful consideration by a team of government experts, it recently announced that it has settled on the generic name of Mycoxafloppin. Also considered were Mycoxafailin, Mydixadrupin, Mydixarizin, Dixafix, and of course, Ibepokin.

Uh, didn't we already have a poll on this not too long ago, started by clockworkcanary?

Again, I voted for part 2.

My bad.  Guess I didn't check back far enough.   :twirl:

Deathfeast

i voted for part 2 cause it was the creepiest to me.
i also really liked part 4 and 7 a lot too. part 7 had the coolest dead jason.
they are all really cool in their own ways.

Deathfeast

i remember that game!
i keep saying that it would be cool if the made a friday the 13th game for the playstation.
make it like grand theft auto and you get to be jason. kind of like the jaws game.

I still think that there's a great F13th and Elm Streets game to be made.

I think that they had a really crappy elm street game on the NES where you had to find all of Freddy's bones or something and there were flying gloves going around the screen in 8 bit glory.

The F13th NES game does muster up some fond memories for me. I was only 10 when it came out and my best friend at the time asked for it for a birthday present and got it.

Within 10 minutes or so of playing, he just bellowed out "this is a piece of sh*t!"  His mom heard him and grounded him from playing with his NES for a week or two.

He was so estatic when he opened up the gift to complete pain/despair within a few minutes once he actually popped in the game.   :tongueout:

I voted for the first one.
It's definitely the best one in my opinion.

Deathfeast

yeah, that was about how i felt with that game as well.
a new friday game could be really cool. think of all the weapons that jason could get and missions to complete.
kill 6 campers without being spotted. then if you get spotted it makes it really hard to kill them all cause they run for the weapons that you could be using and use them on you.
you can hide behind trees and under water or just about anywhere.
so many possibilities!!!
