Some of you may have already seen the kickass video titled, "Ryan vs Dorkman".
If you haven't,
CLICK HERE TO WATCH IT Small | Large

These guys demonstrate some of the best lightsaber choreography I've ever seen.
It's as good as anything in any of the Star Wars films.

After much anticipation, they've finally made Ryan vs Dorkman 2 which will be released online in March of this year. (RVD2)
They have also included a sneak peek and a "making of RVD2" video on Youtube.

I also found this video titled Ryan vs Brandon, which, in my opinion, is even better than the original Ryan vs Dorkman.
You've definitely gotta check it out!   Thumbup
The very last lightsaber strike at the end is awesome.

What do you think?
Any thoughts?

The FDA has been looking for a generic name for Viagra. After careful consideration by a team of government experts, it recently announced that it has settled on the generic name of Mycoxafloppin. Also considered were Mycoxafailin, Mydixadrupin, Mydixarizin, Dixafix, and of course, Ibepokin.

Yes, several thoughts.

It is interesting that at the beginning of the Ryan vs. Dorkman lightsaber duel, they have two different styles of fighting. Ryan fights two-handed, while Dorkman fights with one hand.

They do one thing in the duel, that would never happen in a real duel, but I have seen in other swordfights. That is, when you have your opponent on the ground and at a disadvantage,  don't aim for the part of the body, which is protected by the sword or lightsaber, aim for the part of the body, which is unprotected by the sword or lightsaber, which is usually the lower extremities, such as the feet and lower legs.

On the other hand, they do one thing, which you would see in a real swordfight, but not in most filmed swordfights. They use their fists, when they can. This is multiplied in the lightsaber duel between Ryan vs. Brandon. Where they not only use their fists, but also their heads and the hilts of their lightsabers. Good work guys.

I like the endings of both duels, but I don't think a lightsaber would cauterize a wound that much in the duel between Ryan vs. Brandon. Their should be two fountains of blood spurting up.

Nice choreography. And that is really the only thing I have against both duels. If you want a duel to look real, it should look like it is unchoreographed.

Thanks for bringing this to our attention, Ash.

I am so sick of watching fanboy lightsaber duels. I think I have seen about a dozen of them and they don't get better with time. It doesn't matter how good the good ones are, they will never be on par with the lightsaber battles shown in the theaters. Why? Because the sets are unrealistic, the characters don't have any relationship and in this case, they look like a couple of high school kids. They wear baggy t-shirts and khakis. THere's nothing new in this, other than the fact these guys made it instead of ILM or Lucas. Lightsaber effects have become easier to recreate with programs like after effects, it doesn't impress me anymore. Granted, the camera work in this one was much better than the others I have seen. In this one the camera spends time focusing on the subtle nuances of the characters, like when dorkman pushes his glasses back onto his face. But even that is cliche by now. Lightsaber battles have been beaten to death by people wishing they were space cowboys.
