What have you been doing in the last 24 Hours. We want to know?
________________________________________________________

Guess I'll start with yesterday morning. It was my day off and after picking up my wife from work (which I only do if I'm off from work) we ate a bowl of hot Quaker Oats Cereal and some strawberry short cake she brought home with her.

After that I decided to go on-line and check in here at badmovies.org to post on DEATH MACHINES and CRUCIBLE OF TERROR which I watched the night before. Hung around here for a while.

Went to the vet to get some dietary food for our Japanese Chin who has some small stones in his bladder. Picked up two lottery tickets, got some gas for the Saturn, and went to the grocery store for ingredients for today and tomorrows meals.

Checked phone answering machine and mail box. Looks like the window blinds for our two vacant rooms are ready.

Cooked Salmon fillet and Zucchini on the George Forman grill.

Took my wife to work. (I'm off on Tuesdays and Wednesdays)

Went directly to the gym for my 75 minute workout which consisted of 1 mile on treadmill, 1 mile elliptical, a series of 4 different abdominal routines, arms/chest/back/legs with nautilus machines, stretching.

Came home and prepared todays meal which is Pot Roast Of Beef cooked in a Crock Pot set on low for 11 hour cooking. The ingredients are:

3 medium potatoes, thinly sliced
2 large carrots, thinly sliced
1 onion, sliced
3 pound boneless beef rump roast
1 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon of pepper
1/2 cup of beef broth

After cleaning up I watched THE TREASURE OF TAYOPA then posted my thoughts here before going to bed.

Woke up and picked up my wife and sampled the Pot Roast (excellent) and had more cake for breakfast. Someone at my wife's work had a Birthday and they have had extra cake for the past two days.  Smile

Put the recycling out on the curb.

And here I am again checking the board before I have to make some phone calls and run out for some other task.

Yesterday - um, Tuesday?

Woke up and found that my wife was not in bed, but Jenna was.  Jenna had gotten in bed with us and then tossed and turned.  Apparently, I also stole all the covers, leaving just enough for Jenna, so Katie went and slept in the spare bed in Jenna's room.  Anyway, I carried Jenna back to her bed.  Ate breakfast, showered, shaved, teeth, checked the site and downloaded email, then went out the door.

We do martial arts training on Tuesdays.  Also, nobody wants to be paired with the XO (the man is huge, like 235 lbs and he benches 410 lbs).  I partnered with him and spent about two hours practicing.  Doing some moves on a person that much larger than me (I am 185 lbs) can be a pain.

Spent about 2 hours working on issues that came up unexpectedly that morning, so I worked through most of chow - though I did check in here and post.  That afternoon, I was chasing down some other stuff and also organizing training for the next drill weekend.

Got home, took out the trash, cleaned the humidifier (it is dry during the winter), checked the site, ate dinner (French Country Casserole - yum!), then I gave the kids their bath and we sat down to finish a movie.  Every night, Jenna and Andy clean up their toys, we eat dinner, I give them their bath, and we put in a movie.  Their bedtime is usually 8:30pm, so if the movie is a  long one, they might not be able to finish it.  Oh, and last night I had to be "Bed Bear."  This involves me walking on my hands and knees (swinging my haunches), chuffing and "rooowwwrrrllling," before sniffing the kids and giving them a goodnight kiss.  I did it one night to amuse Jenna and she asks me to be "Bed Bear" now and then.

After that, I finished up email, worked on the review for "The Flesh Eaters," and tried to watch "Saga of a Crew" for the first time.  No dice, my living room DVD player (a Pioneer 919) did not like the DVD.  I will have to watch it on my laptop or the modded Pioneer 393 probably.  Instead, I watched most of "Demons" and went to bed about midnight, after making a last check on the site.

Bed Bear. Wish I had thought of that. I'm sure they love it. I remember doing the crawling creature thing, but a bear that haunches and sniffs is pretty good.

Andrew, do you do martial arts training as part of your military routine or is it outside?

Haven't done any hard martial arts training for the past 1 1/2 due to a weak upper back and neck area that has given me trouble. Don't want a perminant spinal injury, so I stopped training for now. Except for occassion shadow boxing type stuff and Tai Chi. My daughter has done 12 years of Martial Arts. Tae Kwon Do, Escrima, Goju Karate, Jui Jitsu, Judo, Sambo, and the lastest in close combat training with Cardo Urso who was Chief Close Combat Instructor with the U.S. Marines and now trains the U.S. Air Marshals in our area. The FAA has a training center here for them. Right now my daughter has been focusing a lot on Archery at our local college.

Marine Corps martial arts.  It is a hodgepodge of several styles, but mostly jujitsu.

I live in Queens NYC Scott. Where is the tournmament being held?

Well I woke up at 6:00am to be at college 7:00am for my first class. I walk to school so I get their on time and even take a shower and have breakfast in the morining just to give you a idea how close I live.

The day is uneventfully just going to class to class. My last 2 classes have a girl whos a buddy of mine that likes Martial Arts films Resident Evil and we make funny of teachers and such. Shes pretty cool. I also bring lunch to school and eat it in my last class.

At 1:15 I head on home where I go come here to post as well as 3 comic sites. The rest of the day I just read comics, Books Work Out and have dinner when my mom comes home.

Go to bed around 11:00 and do it all over again.

I'll have to find out the actual name of the college. How many colleges are in Queens? Does your college have archery?

9-ish: Get to work.  Make french press of coffee,
9:15-12:00 Tech support for biotech products.
12:01 Walk a bit but it was chilly check in with Anna. Make sure she is not in labor.

Pretty darn dull, all in all.  That'll change soon.  The due date is this Friday!!!!

Andrew, that sound spretty neat, minus the attendant pain.  In grad school I used to do a class that was 4 guys teaching general defense.  I learned bits of Ju-jitsu, Akaido, Mu-Thai boxing, regular boxing, kickoxing, escrima, and Judo.  With guest appearances of capoiera and savate.  It was so much fun, though, I wasn't much good at most of it. I'm too slow, ground based, and inflexible.  I'd love to do it again. But I doubt I could find similar here.

This was my Tuesday:

Woke up and took the dog to the vet ASAP, because he was getting steadily worse. We'd taken him a couple times since Friday, but they kept sending him home. He wasn't eating and he wasn't drinking. His skin had turned yellow. This time they kept him and hook him up to fluids.

Spent the rest of the day at home, staring at the walls and worried sick.

Went back to the vet at the end of the day to discover that he had some sort of hepatitis. He liver was failing (his eyes, gums and tongue were now yellow), his body was attacking itself (elevated white blood cell count attacking the reds)  and it was causing him neurological problems (spasms and seizures). There was nothing that could be done. I made the agonizing decision to put him to sleep. He was only five years old and was my best friend.

Came home and cried the rest of the night.

The FDA has been looking for a generic name for Viagra. After careful consideration by a team of government experts, it recently announced that it has settled on the generic name of Mycoxafloppin. Also considered were Mycoxafailin, Mydixadrupin, Mydixarizin, Dixafix, and of course, Ibepokin.

I am very sorry to hear that Shadow.  I remember when my last dog passed away.  I had him since he was born (we bred Boxers for a little while).  Came home on leave on my 21st birthday and right before dinner I played ball with him in the yard until it was time for dinner.  When I came back outside, he was gone.  9 years old - Boxers just do not live long.

Always hard to lose a pet, especially dogs because they are such social animals and want to give and get love.  Due to the difference in life span for people and dogs, we end up seeing several of them pass in our lifetimes.

You have my deepest sympathy Shadow, loosing a pet is just like loosing a family member, we have lost several in the last 25 years or so. It's always hard on everyone in the family. Each time it's happened I've cried.
