It's not what you say, it's how you say it.

This one came up in the past here or somewhere and I can't for the life of me remember what the title of the movie is.  Can anyone help?  Got this query via e-mail:

Quote
i'm trying to figure out the name of a movie i remember watching a long time
ago. the film probably came out in the 70's or 80's. all i remember about it
is that everybody had a colored crystal or something embedded in their chest
at birth(or wrist, or neck...can't remember) that determined who they could
mate with. if you were a green you could only be with a green, an so on.
there was a girl in the movie that wanted to be with a man that had a
different colored crystal so she tried to mask her color. the man was
already in love with a woman that was the same crystal color  as him.  the
young girl of a different crystal color get's over her crush and begins a
new crush on a boy the same age as her and of the same crystal color.  it's
not logan's run. hope you can help me out.  thanks

Also found this on another board (with no answer):

Really Looking For: The name of a movie. The setting was blasted earth (the people couldn't go outside for some reason [I can’t remember why]) where all the people have these colored crystals on their necks. The crystals were for breeding purposes if I remember right. The movie was made in the 80's or 90's I think.

Anyone?
