Good point, R-T-C Tim, but in my own experience I've experienced the opposite effect more often, unfortunately.

The original Manchurian Candidate had a tough enough time getting seen, all thiose years that Sinatra had it pulled. Then not too long after it was re-released and "rediscovered" the Cold War ended. Which became a strike against many good and great films from that era. Plus it's a black and white film, and there's a certain segment of people who either won't watch anything not in color or for whom it is a hard sell.
blah blah stuff blah blah obscure pop culture reference blah blah clever turn of phrase blah blah bad pun blah blah bad link blah blah zzzz.....

T-Rex Television

Nooooo!! no no no no!! That is horrible! because 1st, it will most likely be crappyanyways, second it kills the whole vibe of the original or the previous ones in the series, and third it will make people like these new horribly maed ones and not even like/watch the good old ones! what is this world coming too?!!? *cry*
