I love baseball; I like the subtlety and nuance of the game - the way there's a LOT going on but it does not seem like much upon casual observation.

So that's what you meant by 'port'.

In March, it is basketball.

I liked wrestling years ago, like in the 80s, but it has just gotten too glossed, ridiculous, and frankly boring. I do like wrestling, though, if it involves mud or oil. TeddyR

I chose baseball.
Growing up in Iowa, it's a given that most people here are baseball fans.   Thumbup

My second choice would be boxing.

Archery, there's a nice outdoor range in the Aroyo Seco park in Pasadena, like to meet my daughter there after work or go with my wife on the weekends and shoot, it's fun to go for a walk and kill the odd hay bale, we get a little bit of exercise and have some fun. My daughter and I ocassionally sing the theme to Robin Hood, Men in Tights while walking from target to target. BounceGiggle BounceGiggle

Thanks Menard. Missed the typo.

Also, I meant Greco-Roman Collegiate type wrestling.  Smile You would pick a height prejudice sport wouldn't you?  Smile

For me it was Baseball, but I don't care much for it anymore. The spirit of the game is lost.

Dennis my daughter also does archery her in New Jersey and my brother In-Law lives not far from Pasadena in Walnut-West Covina area.

Boxing! I usta be a boxing fanatic. But nowadays it's hard to see a good title match without using pay-per-view,so I kinda drifted away from it ...
Would Poker count? I can watch poker for hours...I love to gamble myself...but I'm not a rich man,so I keep the stakes low(pennies, matchsticks, tater chips.)

I suppose it depends on whether it's favourite sport to participate in, or favourite to watch.

I love playing Basketball, and it's easily my favourite sport, but I don't really watch it, or follow all that closely the different competitions.  It's more just a good zen out for me than anything I suppose, since I always feel good after, even if it's a loss.

Also used to play Soccer and Baseball when I was younger [Baseball is pretty unusual in these parts, so that was a nice 'different' sport to play]

On the Playstation/Wii, NFL is lots of fun, so I'll list that, even though I don't play/watch it at all.

But I do love quite a lot of sports in general, and I've pretty much tried all the mainstream ones, and haven't found one I absolutely hated yet, even if I'm not great at most of them.  Everynow and then you'll go golfing with friends, or play a bit of tennis and so on, so it's always very flexible.  Plus good ol' backyard cricket is great when having a bbq...

As for watching, well, nothing beats a bit of lazy cricket on a hot summer day, or a good AFL

The sport I like the best, for now, would be archery. I was pretty athletic in my younger days, tomboy is the word. I would play football, baseball, tennis, bowling (many leagues), bike riding, golf, volleyball, a mean game of badmitten, swimming, track (in junior and high school) and basketball. Okay I'm done......Next.   Smile

I was one of the "greats" at dodgeball all through grammer school. If you could have seen me play dodgeball. Was also a big time kickball star.

Added Volleyball and Dodgeball to the list and you can change your vote.

Frisbee is fun.

Dean...when I was in Australia on vacation we had several backyard BBQ's and they tried showing me how to play cricket.
I was totally confused and didn't get it.
It was funny when they said, "You just can't teach Yanks how to play cricket!"
They even tried to show me how to play cricket on the Playstation.  I still didn't get it.   Question
Heck, I had never even heard of cricket until I went down there.

I did enjoy watching Aussie rules football on the TV though.
That was easy for me to understand.
I still have an AFL hat stored away in a box somewhere.

 Twirling

Mine is definitely cricket ~ I grew up playing the game (still do) and although I know some comic described it as "baseball on valium" it can be and is an exciting game. Soocer is next, I also played it when I was younger and still do.

Although you can describe me as a bit of a nerd (no shame in that) I like sports and the only sport I detest is rugby.

Professional Wrestling (Not a competitive sport but definitely a sporting "exhibition") (That said, I definitely liked it better in the old days when they pretended it was a real competitive sport as that added to the realism of the presentation).

MMA (Mixed Martial Arts) fighting. Can be entertaining when it isn't dull. Can be pretty brutal too.

Boxing. I definitely prefer old-time boxing too. The rules seemed clearer then and the weight classes seemed to be better managed.
