A friend and I were trying to remember the name of a movie we both saw as kids.

The only scene I can remember is a fight on the Statue of Liberty.
(it's not X-Men)

Anyone?

Nada is correct ~ it is Remo Williams a.k.a Remo: Unarmed And Dangerous or Remo Williams ~ The Adventure Begins.

I always loved the fact that it was titled "The Adventure Begins", as they never made a sequel.

It's not what you say, it's how you say it.

I'm sure one was planned if never executed.  The "Destroyer" series of novels the movie was based on has well over a hundred novels (not sure exactly where they stopped...hell they could still be coming out).  The first book Created, the Destroyer has roughly the same plot as much of the movie.

Ah...that's it!
Thanks guys.

I don't remember anything else aout that movie except for the Statue of Liberty fight scene.
Weren't they swinging from ropes on it?

And didn't they film it when the Statue was being remodeled in the 80's?
I seem to remember a lot of scaffolding.

Hi Ash  Smile

As far as I remember, they were all over the Statue of Liberty, scaffolding, ropes, you name it. Even the elevator / lift was used as a weapon. Jackie Chan's The Protector was also filmed around the same time so you also see the SOL covered in scaffolding.
