Saw this a long time ago, so description might not be that accurate. A man and a woman were in a volkswagon that ran off the road and got kind of stuck in a snowdrift. So they're just kind of trapped in the car for awhile, maybe they were waiting for help. They had some dog food and oreos, and the guy just started eating the dogfood right away, like he mistakenly thought it would impress the girl or something. Anyway, I usually keep some chips or something in my car because of this.

The scene you just mentioned sounds similar to one in "Just Married" with Brittany Murphy (drool) and Ashton Kutcher. Don't recall anyone eating dogfood though...

Saw this when I was wee, think it was probably made in the 70s. And the part with the car being stuck may have been the plot of the entire movie.

I'd say it is "Wind Chill" with Emily Blunt and Ashton Holmes.

Although, "a long time ago" then refers to last year and the Volkswagen was in fact some US-model...
Also lots of Ghosts, apparently.

So, probably not the movie, but could this be the remake of some former movie?
......"Now toddle off and fly your flying machine."

sounds like a movie i saw in the late 70's,i think it's called"snowbound"?

Nethergater

Well there's a lot of snow and Volkswagen's in Fire, Ice and Dynamite although it's 1990 not seventies.

I've kind of given up on this one, unless I just happen to stumble on it. I'm pretty sure it was a seventies or early eighties movie, but I'm not sure if the part where the car was stuck in the snowbank was even the main plot or not.

I do remember seeing that movie it was on tv and probably made in the seventies i remember them having to leave the car and find refuge in a cabin.  I will do my best to see what I can find.

Blair

This is an NBC Special Treat, their version of the Afterschool Special, called "Snowbound".

I never thought anyone would figure that one out!  :bouncegiggle:
