Great list, RC.

And you are not alone: I have seen The White Gorilla! Who knew there was such racial tension in the gorilla world?

And it's probably the only movie ever to kill off the hero, heroine, and a cute (?) little kid with a throw-away line. "Well, all we found were some skeletons."

One I forgot: Herschell Gordon Lewis' She Devils on Wheels.
This one has the best theme song in movie history, and it's "In Blinding Color!!!"

Great choices RC. After reading that, I know we have similar tastes in movies. I really think one could devote an whole section to Kung Fu films too (their era of greatness was the late 70s-early 80s) just for the Bruce Lee Rip-Offs alone.  Let's see if I can do it by decade:

1930s:

The Vampire Bat
The Gorilla
Maniac
Tarzan, the Ape Man
The Phantom Creeps

1940s

The Ape
Invisible Ghost
Black Dragons
Bowery At Midnight
Whispering Ghosts
The Ape Man
Tarzan's Desert Mystery
Unknown Island
White Pongo
Valley of the Zombies

1950s:

Bride of the Gorilla
Fire Maidens of Outer Space
Cat-Women of the Moon
Mesa of Lost Women
Robot Monster
Bride of the Monster
The Brain From Planet Arous
The Giant Claw
Plan 9 From Outer Space
Teenagers From Outer Space

1960s:

The Beast of Yucca Flats
Creature From the Haunted Sea
Eegah!
The Creeping Terror
The Horror of Party Beach
Frankenstein Meets the Space Monster
Curse of the Swamp Creature
Creature of Destruction
King Kong Escapes
Santa Claus Conquers the Martians

1970s:

TNT Jackson
Hercules in New York
Horror of the Blood Monsters
Dracula vs. Frankenstein
Lady Frankenstein
The Thing With Two Heads
Blackenstein
The Forgotten (Don't Look In the Basement)
The Giant Spider Invasion
Starcrash

1980s:

Maximum Overdrive
Alien From L.A.
Space Mutiny
Journey to the Center of the Earth
Nightbeast
They Call Me Bruce?
The True Game of Death
The Shaolin Invincibles (with Kung Fu fighting gorillas no less?)

RC Merchant's taste and mine are so close, I would almost adopt his list for mine --
However, we don't need to go too far afield here --
The challenge was "10 Bad Movies to See Before You Die" -- so you have to FORCE yourself to winnow down to the very excess(essence?) of dreck --
Ergo:
Plan 9 From Outer Space
Robot Monster
Bride of The Monster
Starcrash
The Violent Years
Creature From The Haunted Sea
Invisible Invaders
Equinox
Horrors of Spider Island
The Giant Claw --
* * *
 . . . so there . . .

Yeah, I'd vouch for Don't Look in the Basement, as well. Some movies just deserved to be watched for ludicrus plot twists.

1. Pocket Ninjas.
This seems to be at the height of most people's lists...

Check out my review on facebook:
http://apps.facebook.com/flixster/m/497428690?success=rs

2. Hercules - Legend, Hero, Friend.
Which can be rephrased as "Hercules - Legend. Hero. Friend?"  It has the usual sick 90's blending of a kids movie and child slightly inappropriate scenes.

3. Abraxus Guardian of the Universe.
Stars Jessie "The Body" Venturia, another tough guy from Europe, and 5 or 6 slow jazz fight scenes...Ah, I'm not really going to go into the rest of it....hehehe but its just funny!

My list would have to include Dolomite, at least one 1970's Toho kaiju movie, and Drunken WuTang

Big trouble in little China (or was it little Tokoyo?)

I can't believe this wasn't on every list.

For my own two cents, I think budget is the most important divider of bad movies.

I spent about an hour browsing this thread, which has been filled with laughs, but this is the first posting I have a bone to pick with.  I do not think BIG TROUBLE IN LITTLE CHINA is truly a "bad" movie, as its hokeyness was intentional, and I think in large part, works!   TeddyR  No masterpiece, I do find it kind of entertaining in a cheezee way, but not exactly "bad = good" way...

Yes, DON'T LOOK IN THE BASEMENT belongs on that top 10 list of DUMBEST movies of all time that we still like to watch... oops, that's not the right list???

EQUINOX ???  I remember loving EQUINOX... but..., it is bad...

JaseSF and RCMerchant (Bela) sure have great lists to offer... HERCULES IN NEW YORK ...  BounceGiggle Now that's bad !!!

Ps.  I think SANTA CLAUS CONQUERS THE MARTIANS should be voted the worst film of all time (that qualifies as a "feature film").  Boring.  Annoying.  Stupid.  Damn!!  I hate that movie !  Who doesn't???

For me there's really only one movie that is so bad that it becomes a masterpiece. It is "Showgirls" and upon watching it for the first time a month or two ago I was immediately sold. This montage encapsulates why I feel this way.
