I never could get into anime.
It just never appealed to me for some reason.
But, when I hung out with Brother Ragnarok & Co. a few years ago, they played this anime movie and I thought it was pretty cool.
I can't remember the name of it though.

Here's a clip of the movie I'm talking about:
Small | Large

Anybody know?

That would appear to be an episode of the popular anime series Neon Genesis Evangelion, known as Evangelion or Eva for short. Not sure which episode since I only got to see about half the series on Adult Swim before I moved. But the red head in the read suit (a German Eva pilot IIRC) wasn't in the first couple of episodes. will have more info than I can provide and might lead to the episode in question.

blah blah stuff blah blah obscure pop culture reference blah blah clever turn of phrase blah blah bad pun blah blah bad link blah blah zzzz.....

Thanks Yaddo.

You know...I never noticed that underneath the play button on that video it says, "anima Evangelion".
I suppose if I'd looked closer I could've answered my own question.

Thanks again!   Thumbup

Neon Genesis is an awesome TV series.  I loved it when I was younger, and I just recently re-watched it as a trip down memory lane.

The last episode is pretty nutty and out there as well.

I actually have a mini figure of "Sachiel" one of the Angels on the dashboard of my car.

That video has clips from one or both of the two movie-type length endings for Evangelion called "Death And Rebirth" which is basically a recap of the series in the first half, and a new episode ending in the last half, and "End Of Evangelion" the movie-ish length movie.

After watching the series and not seeing these 'ending' movies [since they never screened on TV until recently] I was understandably pretty annoyed, but after watching, and being a big fan of the series for so long, well I suppose that makes it all the more important and entertaining for me.

It's more than just a giant robot kicks crap out of things series, which is why I think it's great!   Thumbup

It's primarily a "teen angst" anime ... with robots to make it "cool" and some religious iconography thrown in to give it "depth".  You can look into it and find some deeper meaning to it all, but I didn't like it enough to bother doing so.

Personally, I think it's decent enough until episode 20 (?), then it starts to suck.
