What about a thread for talking about series? I felt like making a thread about the awesome series "deadwood" today, but i couldn't really figure out where to post it.

Am i crazy for suggesting this?

Do you mean a board named "Television Shows" or something to that effect?  Yes, we can do that if that is what everyone wants to do.  Let's hold this thread here and see if anyone else chimes in.  It does sound like a good idea at first glance.  I'll think over it too.

Really, I would not stress out about where you put a thread.  Take a quick look, decide what you think fits best, and post it.

It just struck me, that theres a lot of series out there, that would be interesting to discuss with the other people on this board!

Smile I agree with Viktor. Drink

The series (although it only lasted for 10 episodes) that scared the hell out of me as a child and marked me forever was the British TV series The Omega Factor with James Hazeldine, Louise Jameson and the eerie John Carlisle. I have it here with me on DVD and it is still scary, a kind of precursor to The X Files without the humour.

While it made me almost wet myself with fear, I truly believe that this series planted the seed of a writer in my brain and if Andrew would want it, I could write a full-scale review of it.

I'd definitely post on a "Television Shows" board.
Good idea!   Thumbup

Actually, i can only think of good series that i watch  TongueOut

The bad ones that come to mind are stuff like "Full house"
(Even tho Bob Sagett suddenly turned extremely funny)

Just plain bad. Not funny/fascinatingly bad.

Anyone with some good examples of good television series?

I like the idea of a television thread.

The best example of a truly bad series I can think of was a 80's sitcom called Small Wonder. It was all about a "wacky" scientist who invented a robot that looked just like a little girl. For some reason it was all a big secret.

I have a special hatred for this series: at the time it was on I was commuting  weekly a long way through rural Alabama (in my Datsun B210 mentioned in another thread). The crappy radio only picked up one station: a local ABC TV station.  My commute coincided with the broadcast of Small Wonder.  I spent many Friday nights driving through dark, deserted Alabama countryside with only the gang from Small Wonder as company.

I can still her that girlbot's monotone, droning voice when I close my eyes...  Buggedout

Oh. So that's what they looked like.

Okay, it looks like we should create one.  Under the "Other Topics" section then?

If not, the best I can come up with is to put it under "Movies," but I should change the section to be called something else since "Movies" would no longer fit.  Like "Now Viewing" or some such heading.

I like to post about JERICHO, but somehow I ended up putting it under Press Releases and News section.  Smile

(Edited: and AMERICAN IDOL was put under Entertainment section. While I put LAST STAND OF THE 300 on the History Channel under Good Movies section).

Wouldn't it work under Entertainment? It has "other media" on it. Or you can just put "other media and TV series"   Smile

I would suggest putting it under "Other Topics" on the main page.
That way there'd be...

Television
Entertainment
Off Topic

Ultimately, it's your decision though.
Go with what you like.
