There was a lot of Hoopla about this film on all of the horror websites I've seen. The cover of the DVD says "One of the scariest movies ever made...", but I've learned it's wise to ignore that over-used line because it's usually bulls**t and sets your expectations way higher for the film. But who could resist buying a fairytale film by Italo-lunatic Argento, especially one which is referred to as his 'masterpiece'?

Take a look.....

I hope you enjoy it, and my page. There is a condensed version of the review I could submit for a badmovies.org reader review, but I really would like you guys to see my site...

I'd definitely say that, if you have a site, post a link to the review, vice the text of your review.  Quite often the presentation and layout is part of your style and it can make a big difference.

Lots of interesting sets and visuals in this one.  For me, Dario always seemed to make stunning visuals, even work up the story, but then flub the final delivery.  It has been a decade or so since I last tried one of his works; maybe my opinion will have changed.

I would go back and watch it again (it has been a long time), but have viewed both "Shock Treatment" and "Phantom of the Paradise" lately and I am just about Jessica Harper'd out.

Thanks for the response!

Yeah, I've noticed that in most of his films, too. I mention that in my review of Suspiria even.

Suspiria's an interesting film at the very least.  I kind of dislike the whole genre of "realistic" horror films, which makes the appearance of any kind of fantasy horror to be a welcome one for me...but for a lot of Argento's films, I like them, but there are a lot of spots that drag on for a bit too long, and you just don't like the characters enough to really care if they live or die. But, that seems to be a problem for any horror film...focus too much on the characters, and that takes away time that could be well spent on bloody kills.  TongueOut
