Well, at least "Oliver the Humanzee" will have some new pals.

If you're an Andy Milligan fan there's no hope for you.

I'm all for it if they think they can find the cures for diseases.  And, well, we've already got all sorts of human/cow hybrids running around, Rosie O'Donnel comes to mind.
The world is changed by your example, not by your opinion.

So when this creature asks for its mother, will it go "maaa maaa"?

I'm guessing all those frozen human eggs and embryos are tough sells for cross-species breeding experiments.

If what they want are the stem cells for research, I'm for this since the embryos would be destroyed before they ever got near birth. But considering the failure rate cited, they'd need lots of eggs to work with, and who knows if a human/cross species creature would be viable if the other half of the equation was far enough removed from us.

I've read about and seen pictures of geeps, which Wikipedia identifies as a chimera, rather than a hybrid, since it results from combining embryos of a sheep and a goat rather than the different species interbreeding.
