To continue on with the 80s thing...

Top 10 NWA Tag Teams (1980s)

(The Steiners were only just breaking in on the NWA scene in 1989 or they would be higher on the list) These teams created some of the best tag team wrestling I've ever watched. The Road Warriors actually didn't win the titles until 1988 but were always highly booked on shows and frequently were main event guys over the tag champs of the time.

10. The Varsity Club
9. The Fantastics
8. Ricky Steamboat & Jay Youngblood
7. Rick & Scott Steiner
6. Ole & Arn Anderson
5. The Russians (Ivan & Nikita Koloff, Krusher Kruschev)
4. Tully Blanchard & Arn Anderson
3. The Midnight Express (Condrey/Eaton later Lane/Eaton)
2. The Rock 'n' Roll Express
1. The Road Warriors

7. Ricky Steamboat
6. Tully Blanchard
5. Nikita Koloff
4. Barry Windham
3. Magnum T.A.
2. Dusty Rhodes

I'm looking forward to next week's TNA show (even if it is taped). The build-up they gave it this week was better than WWE's build to Hell in a Cell. Roode-Lashley for the World title with special guest referee Kurt Angle. Continuation of a #1 contenders tag tournament. Not at all bad stuff.

So DX vs The Nation in a game of flag football almost happened.

As dumb as this sounds, I really would've liked to so it for some reason.

Really WWE, pushing that no-talent hack John Cena on us yet again. WWE, get a clue. No one wants to see John Cena continue to be on top of the company aside from perhaps people under the age of 10 and their moms. We're all sick of this guy. He's so damn phony and kiss ass. Sure, I'll give him some props for all the charity work he's done and continues to do but well in the ring the guy just plain sucks (he throws the absolute worst looking versions of the dropkick, fisherman suplex and STF in history). Lex Luger had more wrestling talent and a more believable finish than Cena. He came across as far more legit tough too. On the microphone, Cena just plain sucks (he talks like a freakin' robot all the time or he just sucks up to the audience hoping they will cheer him). Most important of all, the guy's time should be winding down now. He shouldn't be the main focus of shows anymore, he should be building and losing clean to guys like Rollins, Ambrose, Reigns, Cesaro, and whoever else you hope to build to the next level. He should begin his decline down the card at this point, not still be on top.

John Cena, your time is up.
You phony kiss-ass chump.

Time for new stars to shine.
All these new guys are a potential gold mine.

Time for you to pass the buck.
Cause John Cena well you just plain suck.

TNA Impact Wrestling had by far the best wrestling show of the week again this week. Just a great show top to bottom (not really fond of the Davey Richards joining James Storm possibly stuff but the rest was fine). Week after week, TNA Impact Wrestling has the best mainstream wrestling shows these days. If you're not watching, give them a try. Especially if you actually like wrestling more than sports entertainment like me. Lashley vs. Roode was awesome I felt and I'm looking forward to their next match. Also looking forward to the Hardys vs. Samoa Joe and Low-Ki.

Raw was horrible again this week. Smackdown was only slighter better. Main Event was actually the best wrestling show featuring the WWE (non NXT) roster...WWE is the same old same old watered down generic crud week after week more often than I'd like. Few bright spots here and there with Ziggler, Rollins, Ambrose, and Cesaro most of whom WWE badly misuses week after week.
