We're all just victims of circumstance

"Fish, plankton, protein from the sea!"   Although he played tons of parts I remember him best as the sea food freezing robot Box from Logan's Run and as Mr. Nightlinger in John Wayne's The Cowboys.

He definitely had a distinct voice and, egad, I think I remember him from "Moon 44."  Another far-reaching talent who has passed away.

I just saw him in Logan's Run a few months ago, I dunno if he was a really good actor as this was the only film I saw him in, but he did play an excellent character, a totally unknowing psychopath who I loved to hate. Scariest, saddest part of the film.

Always a solid presence in anything he was in, he will be missed.

Good in comedy too, I remember seeing a rerun of The Flip Wilson Show where he and Flip were contestants on a game show hosted by Andy Griffith. Andy was trying to avoid cracking up at Flip's antics, he was a brusk, street smart, lower class guy. Browne was a refined upper class man clearly annoyed to be sharing a stage with Flip's character, getting laughs by being disgusted with the bizarre logic that Flip used to answer the questions.

Always loved his delivery of that line from The Cowboys, (from memory so excuse me), "Ma'am, I have the maturity and the inclination, but I haven't got the time."

Unfortunately, all I know of Brown is that he did voice work in animated shows, notably the Spider-Man cartoon that trashed 30 years worth of comics by having the Kingpin behind every one of Spidey's major adversaries.
