I've been at a conference at the Nelson Mandela Foundation
www.nelsonmandela.org in Johannesburg for the last two days and it was the usual thing of people who know more than the other person taking a opportunity to whale on their colleagues and to use words that are longer than marmalade.
Anyhow, you get the scene ~ people basking in their glow of contentment and spouting forth on subjects that are so exhilarating you wish someone would drop a car on your head ~ until one person started emoting on the peripheral continuum of a archive document's Praxis.
That last word brought out the schoolboy in me and I laughed. The audience was a little stunned and the person said "Whoever laughed at that, what is so funny?" My Chief Director also wanted to know why I laughed, so I explained to them that Praxis is a Klingon planet in Star Trek.
Collapse of tetchy audience.
