Okay, I kind of remember the plot of this film, but I can't make a lot of sense of it (maybe they explained it better in the movie, I dunno...)

Basically, from what I remember there are this group of people in an underground lab doing some kind of weird experiment where they have several naked unconscious people laying on slabs ( I'm guessing the slab people have ESP or something.)  Anyway, a new guy comes down to investigate the group for some reason, and wants them to "activate" a male.  The group (watching behind a glass window) are all nervous because last time they "activated" one of the sleepers they "lost control".

New guy slowly wanders around the naked sleepers slab, as the other guys keep track of the time.  Finally, the guy says, "Okay, thanks." and they shut the guy down.  Problem is, during the time the guy was 'awake" (or something) he opened a portal (or some such) to another dimension and now a monster is going around killing everyone in the lab.

Here's some specific scenes I remember...

When the new guy first meets one of the head scientists (a female) she tells him her husband recently died.  He says, "I'm sorry,"  she replies, "Don't be, I'm not."

There's a dinner scene where a guy with curly hair, glasses, and overalls yells at the cook (an obese woman) to bring in dessert.  She comes in with a covered dish, pulls the cover off to reveal a dead rat!  The guy screams in terror, and she reminds him that he hasn't fixed the grate in the kitchen (where all the rats are presumablily coming from.)  He's like, "Well, I'll get to it, it's not like I don't have anything else to do around here."  She tells him he's got 24 hours, or else.  "Else what?" he says.

"Or else then I'd be REAL careful what I eat."

In another scene the crew is down to about two people (new guy and scientist girl) and they're plotting what to do.  They get a message from the monster (via computer screen) and he wants them to awaken the other sleeper (a female).  New guys like, "We can't, we don't have the power..." And suddenly the power comes back on.  He says, "Why should we?"  Message on the computer "You have no choice."

Dunno if this sounds familiar to anyone...

Damn right it's Shadowzone.  I'll never forget the giant rabbit/rat/whatever that burst through the wall to kill the bull dyke.
