Went by Fry's today and picked up the Tales of Voodoo box set, which has these ten films:

Hell Hole
Jungle Virgin Force
Ghost Ninjas
Primitives
The Rapist
Devil’s Express
Temple of Hell
Cannibal Curse
A Dog Called Vengeance
Scorpion Thunderbolt

I have never heard of any of these films, which look like cheapies imported from the Phillippines and China. They all look cheesy as hell. Not a bad score for 15 bucks.

The FDA has been looking for a generic name for Viagra. After careful consideration by a team of government experts, it recently announced that it has settled on the generic name of Mycoxafloppin. Also considered were Mycoxafailin, Mydixadrupin, Mydixarizin, Dixafix, and of course, Ibepokin.

Wow, I'm jealous of you Shadow, as I coughed up $50 for those damn things seperately when they came out... and I still haven't bothered to watch any of them... argh.  Thumbup

That's ok. I'm fuming over all the money I put out on individual Dragonball Z discs in order to get the whole series, only to recently learn that the series is now being put out in "season" sets. Hatred

On the bright side, I think they reformatted them into widescreen, so at least yours are in the proper format...

Are yours uncut? If they are, you're really not missing anything.

Went to Circuit City today and, though I missed out on the big DVD sale of the weekend, I picked up the following treats...

I'm heading upstate to spend time with family this weekend, so these should keep me company on the long bus ride up and back.

Jungle Virgin Force - Your going to love this film. Indonesian action/fantasy.

Hell Hole - Isn't as good. A couple moments worth looking at I suppose.

Recently got myself a copy of the new killer-dogs-on-an-island flick, The Breed. Nothing special, kind of a mediocre film, but it does have some pretty cool dog attacks here and there.

Went to the big outdoor flea market today! Got some good buys on used VHS tapes...
MORTUARY(1981) with Lynda Day and Christopher George.Never seen it.Looks good and cheap.
.A FISTFULL of DOLLARS-Clint and Leone.
.KILLING ZOE-Good bank heist movie!
.Uli Lommel's the BOOGYMAN-Never seen it...but heard good things! And it's got John Carradine!!!
.TORA!TORA!TORA!-YES! HAHAHA!
.BUBBA HO TEP-with Bruce Campbell as Elvis and Ossie Davis as JFK(!). Just watched it this afternoon! Good stuff!
.A movie just recently discussed...VERTIGO!!!!
.The HIDDEN-seen it,loved it,now I own it again!
.John Woo's A BETTER TOMMOROW
.And a real find...COMBAT SHOCK(1984). Holy Moley! Whatta ssick, gory, twisted, weird movie this is! Just watched this when I got back first thing! It starts out with our hero(?) in Nam,where we get to see some (real) battle footage, lotsa dead mangled bodies, and flashes to him in Staten Island...a s**thole if I ever saw one.He lives in squalor, has an Eraserhead type of kid that wails all the time, and a b***hy ol' lady. He gets his ass beat, has flashbacks, his buddy OD's,and eventually he goes off the deep end. But words can't descripe how...unclean...this movie feels. Bizzare!
.PLUS...I found a DVD of a movie I have never seen...MYSTERY of the WAX MUSEUM!!!(1932) with Lionel Atwill and Fay Wray! WOW! And it was in the weird 2 tone color process that makes everything odd shades of green, blue and red! Cool!!!

Yikes! from COMBAT SHOCK

It's a ...boy?...COMBAT SHOCK

Fay Wray and Lionel Atwill...Mystery of the Wax Museum!!!

Ah yes, The Robot vs. The Aztec Mummy...my favorite sleep aid.

One of the absolute worst movies I have ever seen. Boring as all hell and just stupid, stupid, stupid.

So naturally, I nearly fell over myself in my rush to get the box set when it came out.  TeddyR
