Recently picked up Night Fright and Devil's Partner. Who knew Shop Rite could hide such things. Bless you, Alpha Video Classics. Night Fright was typical fare with one of my favorite classic monster types [accidental space mutant] and the art on the cover was very honest. However, Devil's Partner had me at first glance.

Look at this box art!

The Devil's Partner has next to nothing to do with that awesome cover from what I've read about it...

That is a beautiful DVD of a relatively unheard of film (outside of cult movie circles).  Previously, I had a very poor VHS of it.  The DVD is really impressive.  I didn't think that a master print of that film existed which looked that good.

Yeah, this was a real surprise.

I also had a dupey washed-out VHS (from Sinister Cinema?) that was missing most of the best gory shots:

SPOILERS!

Kosleck digging the Flesh Eater-infested flesh from the pilot's leg; "Omar the Beatnick" screaming "There's something inside of me eating its way out!" plus the shot of his partial eaten corpse on the raft; and the closeup of Kosleck's half-eaten face after he shoots himself.

This is the Legend Films DVD release, which includes both a colorized and original B&W version of the films.  Just watched "The Killer Shrews" (I'm going to update the review), and it is an amazingly good print of that movie.  The only part that looks bad is when Rook gets eaten.  It is otherwise a great print.  Not perfect, but it surprised me.

Recently, "Meet the Feebles" and "cheerleader Ninjas" were given to me. I watched Meet the Feebles with a friend. He thought it was retarded. I'm still deciding.

I don't expect it to, what kind of fool would I be TongueOut?
A sinister cover does not a good bad movie make:

Doesn't it look like he's holding his own skull? The brow lines are so similar.
