I bought a DVD of Loaded Weapon 1 last weekend.  My brother bought a dvd of Cannibal Holocaust.

I see you two have very different tastes.

Actually, I've seen both.  I've seen many flicks from all genres.  Comedy and horror (or both together) are my favorites.

We have a Movie Gallery that's closing it's doors.  Even though I rarely went there (five day rentals just aren't my thing), I feel kind of bummed at it's closing.  The had films for sale twenty percent off, so I browsed around to see what I could find.

I ended up buying:

Inglorious Bastards (the original)
Cemetery Man (been on my films to get in DVD list for awhile)
Let The Right One In (actually, I already own this, but wanted a second copy to give to a friend of mine)

And I got a fourth film, but the title isn't coming to me right now.

EDIT: And soon as I hit "post" it came to me: The Simpsons Movie.

Also, not too long ago I bought Steamboy and Slither from Big Lots for just $3 each.  I tell ya, sometimes Big Lots has some decent films for cheap.  I stop by there every other week or so.

Why would I buy something on Blu ray when I've already got it on DVD?  Alcohol + access to Amazon.com, that's why.  At least I got a good deal on it.

1.the Annihilators (christopher stone)
2.Blastfighter  (michael sopkiw and george eastman). kinda surprised that italian PA actors would be in a movie filmed in Georgia

and now for the "deal of the week"

3. Friday the 13th, parts one through seven, for a dollar apiece on vhs.

Got this for $5 at Wal-Mart:

As you see it includes Pumpkinhead II: Blood Wings, Leprechaun, Wishmaster, and Wishmaster 2.  I haven't seen any of 'em before, but I thought to myself, "That's a good deal!"  My wife actually encouraged me that we should get it.

Also found this during a Big Lots visit:

After Midnight - I was totally unfamiliar with this film but it's a horror anthology for the 80's so I figured I'd get some amount of entertainment out of it.  I mean, that sweater alone says "HORROR!"

DVD of Ninja Scroll.  The movie, not the tv series.

A handful of those $5 b-movie compiliations they like to display in the checkout line at stores like ShopKo and Borders.  One has 20 so-called cult classics, including Reefer Madness & Terror of Tiny Town; one has "crime boss" movies from the 70s and one has spaghetti westerns.  They all look awesomely bad.  Expect reader reviews  TeddyR

This is going to require a little explanation.

My parents put everything on their credit cards and have for years.  They earn points (redeemable at Amazon and other places) but they have never tried to cash them in all the years they've had the card.  They just recently found out that their points---over 100,000 of them---were about to expire.  But when they looked on the website they could not find anything they wanted to use them on.  They asked me if I would use them.

I said, very calmly, yes.

Here's what I purchased using their points:

ALICE IN WONDERLAND (1951 Walt Disney)
ARIZONA DREAM
BEING JOHN MALKOVICH
BRAZIL
THE DARK CRYSTAL
DR. HORRIBLE'S SING ALONG BLOG
FEAR AND LOATHING IN LAS VEGAS (Blu-ray)
FELLINI SATYRICON
FINAL FLESH
THE FOUNTAIN
THE INGMAR BERGMAN COLLECTION (5 Movies)
MEMENTO
MIRRORMASK
MULHOLLAND DR.
THE NIGHTMARE BEFORE CHRISTMAS
THE NINES
PAPRIKA
PERFUME: THE STORY OF A MURDERER
THE PILLOW BOOK
THE SADDEST MUSIC IN THE WORLD
SCHIZOPOLIS
SHOCK TREATMENT
SESSION 9
THE TRIPLETS OF BELLEVILLE
TWIN PEAKS (TV series, "Gold Box" edition)
