Was watching War of the Robots on a Mill Creek 50 pack the other day, but since there's some hot babes in skin tight latex (?) space suits, I decided I wanted to see a version that doesn't look like a 3rd generation VHS dupe   TeddyR

Just picked up this beaut for a mere 4.99 at the local Shop-Rite:

EIGHT movies for five bucks?? Can you beat that with a stick? I think not. And one of them is the legendary (well, at least to me and my friends Sean and Greg) DEMONIC TOYS. Dude, that flick is worth the five bucks all by itself.

The other seven flicks (on two DVDs) are...

Prom Night (the 1980 original w/Jamie Lee Curtis)

The Legend of Sorrow Creek (?)

Below (horror flick set on a WWII submarine, looks pretty cool)

I Am Omega (The Asylum's ripoff of "I Am Legend," starring Mark Dacascos of "Iron Chef America" fame. Yes, really.)

Evil Bong (it's got Tommy Chong in it, need I say more?)

Meridian (?)

Decadent Evil (?)

so we've got one must-own (Demonic Toys), one semi-classic (Prom Night) a couple that look interesting (I Am Omega, Evil Bong), and a few complete mysteries .

As Homer Simpson might say, "Looks like goooooood watchin'."

Evil Bong is great  Thumbup

I also just bought a copy of this for $5, at Wal-Mart.

EVIL BONG- Really fun bad film, what you'd expect from Full Moon.
DEMONIC TOYS- Better fun bad film, from the same folks,.
PROM NIGHT- Actually, a yawner; I have another copy of this.
BELOW- Very slow going.
DECADENT EVIL- More class trash from Full Moon; I liked it.
MERIDIAN-Full Moon trying to do Hallmark Channel; still, not bad.
LEGEND OF SORROW CREEK- Good, atmospheric indie.
I AM OMEGA- I wanted to shower afterwards; made by the folks who gave the world MEGA SHARK VS GIANT OCTOPUS.

If it's true what they say, that GOD created us in His image, then why should we not love creating, and why should we not continue to do so, as carefully and ethically as we can, on whatever scale we're capable of?

The choice is simple; refuse to create, and refuse to grow, or build, with care and love.

A couple of days ago I bought the other 3 volumes of TV Carnage that I didn't already have (I have the last 3, so I needed the first 3).  Very funny stuff!

Ray Bradbury Theater - Complete Collection

(Actually the DVD cover for the set I have looks cooler than this, it's a nice red cover with pics of some of the top guest stars who appeared on the series, got this by way off of a Christmas gift certificate)

I have a soft spot for Canadian TV, especially sci-fi, fantasy, superhero, horror and cop shows.

The Ray Bradbury Theater is a great show!  There are a few duds but it's got some really inspired episodes.  I'm a Ray Bradbury fan in the first place and part of the pleasure of his stories is how they're written and that's a tough thing to bring to life in a film format, but a lot of episodes pull it off.  I think the A Sound of Thunder one, although clunky in its effects, is far better and more effective than the cheap-o feature film from a few years back.

Today I got:

My local Blockbuster is finally going under and is selling off its stock.  I decided to raid the shelves and grabbed a couple of Blu-Ray films:

Coraline
Legend of the Guardians
Piranha (2010)
Black Swan

Can't wait to see how they all look!
