Just got back from early Black Friday shopping and - seeing as no one understands me better than ME - got some stuff for me after everyone else was taken care of... found some stuff I wanted for awhile at much-reduced rates, including some Blu-Rays! (yes, I now have a Blu-Ray player, so I splurged)

A combo of Butch Cassidy And The Sundance Kid / The Good The Bad And The Ugly / The Magnificent Seven

The Poseidon Adventure

The Expendables

Fight Club

Combo-pack for Prometheus

And then got some good cheap DVDs:

The Adventures Of Tintin

Battle: Los Angeles

Rise Of The Planet Of The Apes

Gone With The Wind (2-disc set)

Merry Christmas to me.   BounceGiggle

This is pretty great, if you like cheap, sleazy (no nudity) crime flicks from the late 50's and early 60's. I'll admit my expectations were low, but I enjoyed all six films.

This was advertised as a bare bones release, but mine has an audio commentary, an interview with a dubbing actor, trailers and TV spots. Smile

Really intrigued by that Something Weird set, and I need to get a copy of Godzilla Vs. Megalon!  Does yours have extras?  From what I understand the copies with extra features were pulled from circulation at the demand of Toho but Media Blasters got to release a bare bones version.  Some of the loaded discs still made it to retailers, though.

I told myself I wasn't gonna buy much more but I guess I can skip eating for the month.  Did some Black Friday shopping and have gotten some other good deals, so, yeah.

Blu-ray:
Breaking Bad seasons 2 & 3
The Crow
Salt - Thinking of returning this.  I wasn't too interested but my brother insisted that it's good.  Anyone seen it?
The Lookout
Blazing Saddles
The Goonies/Gremlins/Gremlins 2 set
Universal Monsters blu-ray set - Ordered this from Amazon UK for about $42 shipped!  This set is over a hundred bucks in the US for no good reason, but the UK release, which is region free and identical save for packaging and one commentary track on one of the films, retails for the equivalent of $50-60.

DVD:
Rain
Thriller: They Call Her One Eye
Mysterious Island

If you like cheap and sleazy crime flicks from that era you'll probably dig THE WEIRD NOIR, and yes I got the special edition of MEGALON. I bought it from Amazon, but it would be hit or miss as to what you would end up getting. It's just luck of the draw.

I bought a truly shameful amount of movies over black friday week.
Blu Ray
Lawrence of Arabia-May be the finest blu ray restoration yet!
Face Off
The Social Network
The Dirty Dozen
Robocop Trilogy
Wrong Turn Trilogy
Reservoir Dogs
Zombie
Transporter 2
Taken
Any Given Sunday
Man on Fire
Leon The Professional
Goodfellas
Dark City
Notorious
Species
Unforgiven

DVD
Alive
The Bodyguard
Red State
Deja Vu
Coppola's Dracula
The Outer Limits Season 2
Nicholas Cage Collection
Manhunter
Universal Soldier Regeneration

Truly a ridiculous amount of stuff to buy. My only justification is that the prices were pretty damn cheap and I was going to pick up a number of these titles anyway.

I feel the same way, I just keep telling myself that I got good deals...and that I have a small amount of savings to fall back on.   Drink

I kinda want that gigantor Lawrence of Arabia set.  From the pictures I've seen it just looks lovely.  I haven't seen the film, though, so...

Yeah, you definitely lucked out; I got the same copy at FYE today and it was just bare bones.  I still wanted a new copy of it, and was exceedingly happy with what I got, but those extras would have been sweet.

All the same, you got one great find, there.  Good on ya!

Got this for $6.50

I have no idea if it's good or not, but it stars Kristanna Loken and she's totally hot, so a whole season of her in anything should be worth $6.50.  Or so my thinking goes...

EDIT:  Oh gawd I just watched part of an episode on Youtube.  No wonder my used copy is in "like new" condition.  It's just freakin' awful.  Lookingup

Picked this up for $7

Must not be a very popular Bond film as all the other ones are at least $20 on Blu ray.  Oh well, I liked it  Smile

Oh got this too

Picked up 3 movies for a grand total of 3$!

Chasing Ghosts (2005)- DTV cop movie with Michael Madsen, Gary Busey and Meatloaf. Probably terrible but any movie with Gary Busey is worth 99 cents.
Hard Rain (1998)-Morgan Freeman and Christian Slater get involved in something wet!
Duel To The Death (1983)-Hong Kong swordfighting movie. Checked out some reviews and supposedly this is pretty badass.
