I agree that Comeau was a great fit for them, too bad he didn't stick around. Haven't really cared for any of the stuff they've released with Dave Padden on vox. It figures, for nearly 20 years that band went thru singers like crap thru a goose but as soon as Waters finds a guy that I can't stand, he's in there for the long haul. :(

You should out the "Live At Masters Of Rock" DVD, Padden is great. Really strong guitar/vocal performance where he nails every song and sounds almost exactly like all Annihilators previous frontmen. I was put off initially by "Metal" (which I hate, but then again, it's got tons of crappy guest musicians on) due to the fact I hadn't heard the stuff Padden had done before and that he had short hair (silly me).

Meh, not really into live DVDs, I never watch'em (i'd rather watch movies!)... I was turned off by Padden's vox on his first Annihilator CD, "All For You" ... one track he was a Phil Anselmo Clone, next track he was bizarro Mike Patton, next track he was a metalcore growlder... I'm like "Dude, make up your mind!"

I understand he's gotten better since then but I've just never bothered investigating his other records with them. I have everything from Alice in Hell thru Waking the Fury, so I'm pretty much set.

Cool man! Glad you dig'em!!

Dunno if you're a Rainbow fan but they happen to do a damn fine cover version of "Kill The King" on that album as well:

CHTHONIC - Takasago Army

Been listening to some of the bands that are going to be at Bloodstock on Saturday, mainly the ones I haven't heard before. Chthonic are from Taiwan, mixing traditional taiwanese music with a classy blend of modern blackened death metal. Takasago Army is their latest album.
