It's pretty much all punk, ska or Japanese garage rock in one form or another (I'm not sure of the subgenre deviations beyond that, as I try to stick to basics if possible) with Zombie being about the only metal I really listen to anymore. Yeah, I know, Zombie's considered "commercial sell-out" by most die hard metalheads, but since I never claimed to be as such, I'm sure I can be forgiven.  TeddyR Super Charger Heaven is one of the greatest f*cking tracks of all time and the re-mix from "Super Sexy Swingin' Sounds" is one of the few re-mix tracks I can actually enjoy. Wicked. \m/

Some of the best music for running, for me, is that which  a) if you listen to it, it MUST be played as loud as the device can play it, and b) is physically painful to hear at said volume.  Therefore, the pain of the music replaces the pain of running harder and faster.  =)   In that regard, the Zombie tracks you mention are great running music.

Sadly Zap, I know exactly what you mean by that, as applying that method to driving helped get my license suspended several years ago when I received five speeding tickets within a two year span. The points have long since expired since this was something like 5 years ago, but I still owe something like $300 for the last one before I can get my license cleared again. Good thing I live in a place where public transport is a way of life, otherwise I'd never be able to listen to Zombie or most of the rest of my CD collection when getting from point A to point B anymore.  Wink

Now I'm listening to Rena Jones' Driftwood album, mostly New Age instrumentals with a techno veneer.

Not exactly listening to yet, but recently ordered:

And, because I let my friend borrow all of my Sublime CDs last year and they were subsequently stolen from her truck and never replaced...

I'm not listening to any classics at the moment (unless you count some music from the 90's a classic) but I'd say Linkin Park (which a lot of people hate, I know) Ra, Three doors down, Green day, SUM 41, System of a down and death cab for cutie.

I definitely count BECK's ODELAY as a classic from the 90s!   You also have some great bands listed!

"The Wheel Man" by Watermelon Slim and the Workers. A good crossover of Delta and Chicago blues.

I've been jamming to "In the Deep" - my two favorite CD's are Hard Worship and Floored.

(Yes, they're a Christian rock band!)

The Misfits, stuff from the newer albums "Famous Monsters"  (love "Dust to Dust", "Crawling Eye", "Saturday Night", "Descending Angel" and "Them") and "American Psycho"  ("Don't Open Till Doomsday" is a top fave but also like "Hate the Living, Love the Dead",  "Day of the Dead" and "Mars Attacks" and also from their classic "Walk Among Us" ("Vampira", "Astro Zombies" and "All Hell Breaks Loose" are faves on that album).
