The FDA has been looking for a generic name for Viagra. After careful consideration by a team of government experts, it recently announced that it has settled on the generic name of Mycoxafloppin. Also considered were Mycoxafailin, Mydixadrupin, Mydixarizin, Dixafix, and of course, Ibepokin.

Today, I listened to:

Elvis: Ones- Thirty Number One songs by Elvis.

Licensed to Ill by Beastie Boys

Fun stuff.

Plus, anyone who likes "Heartbreak Hotel" by Elvis should look up Stan Freberg's version.  It's kind of a parody, but not really.  The lyrics don't change so much, as it's just a funny way he does it.  It's from back in the '50s.  It's pretty funny.  Stan, of course, was pretty much one of the kings of novelty music back then.

Need to find a good Stan Freberg collection...I love those old kooky recording artists like Spike Jones, John Zacherle, Phil Harris, Bobby Pickett, Dickie Goodman, Scotty McGregor...

Spike Jones is hilarious.  Allan Sherman's pretty good too, as well as Bobby Pickett.  A good song to check out is "Existential Blues" by Tom T-Bone Stankus.  I don't know where to find any of his albums, but heard that song on a compilation and it's hilarious.

I'm also starting to get into Zappa a little bit as well, although I wouldn't necessarily categorize him in that novelty area, although he's had a few that could be, like "Dancin' Fool."
