Torgo!  'Was amused to see you playing NEIL.  Thumbup There are a few songs of his I really love, but must advise that his Christmas album (good g*d there's two, aren't there??) is unforgivable.   Hatred Question Bluesad Buggedout TongueOut  (Perhaps even it's badness will one day be nostalgic for me...)

Looking a bit Christmasy, here's the backcover of ROXY MUSIC Country Life a great album.  I show the backcover 'cause I think the cover will be removed though I don't think it's obscene, I can see it's certainly "scandalous."  Maybe "work unsafe" these covered ladies are not nude, but definitely peek-a-boo.  Check it out for yourself:

I was at Wal-Mart last night picking up some cat food and stuff and they had that 2 disc Essential set clearanced for only 7.50 if you can believe it.  I like some of his older stuff a lot but when I mad that post I was on the start of Disc 2 which kicks off with the ultracheesy track "America" from his god awful version of The Jazz Singer.

I've also heard that his Christmas album was beyond awful. I think it was my mom who told me that.  However, his most recent album that he did with Rick Rubin was supposed to be really good.

Great buy!  I don't even mind "America..."  I really like quite a number of his charters, not just the original classics, but even "Love On The Rocks!"

I had heard the first Christmas album at my sister's house many years ago on replay... all day... "I'yi'yi'I'yi'yi'm dreaminGguhh... of a WhI'yi'yi'I'yi'yi'TT CHRRISSTMASS!!"  Too bad we don't have a jaw-dropping avatar.

I think one of my sisters got my mom that a few years back and she said that it was pretty much unlistenable despite her being a huge Neil Diamond fan.

I'm one of the very few people that I know personally who could follow up Neil Diamond with Cannibal Corpse BTW.   TeddyR

Now, ROXY MUSIC Avalon
Alot of bands owe this well crafted album a debt, not excluding DURAN DURAN, SPANDAU BALLET, THE FIXX, MEN AT WORK... still, was never a favorite of mine, though I love this band.  This one was always kind of background party music... with one of the greatest album cover photographs ever.  In some quarters a masterpiece, but to me kind of the perfect product.

They really had a lot more range than the two Dylanesque songs they're best known for "Monday Monday" and "California Dreaming."
